    Capital-Efficiency Pressure

Manufacturers and banks face margin and capital discipline, pushing them to optimise the portfolio, retire low-value work and rebalance investment to strategy.

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our training includes mock exams, an exam simulator and trainer guidance to build readiness across all five domains. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts.

What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario and situational questions across five performance domains.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. Results are reported with domain-level performance feedback rather than a fixed percentage score.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, so focus on broad mastery across the five domains: Strategic Alignment, Governance, Portfolio Performance, Portfolio Risk Management and Communications Management.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. Both the panel review and the written exam must be passed to earn the credential.

How do I schedule and book the PfMP exam?

After your application is approved and you clear the panel review, schedule the exam through Pearson VUE, either at a test centre or via OnVUE online proctoring, within your one-year eligibility period.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to take PfMP training?
