Why Microsoft Project Skills Are Worth BuildingFor Your Career and Your Team

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Learning Microsoft Project gives you a practical, in-demand skill that employers across Namibia value: the ability to turn a project brief into a clear, controllable schedule. You move from static spreadsheets to dependency-linked plans, resource assignments and baselines that show exactly where a project stands. Whether you coordinate construction packages, plan a mining shutdown, run an IT rollout or support a PMO, these software skills make you faster, more accurate and more credible with sponsors.

If you want to stand out as a planner or project manager, confident use of Microsoft Project is one of the clearest ways to prove your delivery capability and take on larger, more complex projects.

    • Turn project briefs into structured, dependency-linked schedules you can control
    • Move from spreadsheets to professional Gantt charts, baselines and progress tracking
    • Spot the critical path early and protect your project finish date
    • Assign and level resources so no one is over-allocated across tasks
    • Report status clearly to sponsors with built-in and custom Microsoft Project reports
    • Build a portable, in-demand skill valued across mining, construction, energy and finance
    • Apply what you learn immediately using realistic project scenarios in every session
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Microsoft Project group training helps organisations standardise how teams plan, resource and track projects. When every planner uses the same tool and the same disciplines, schedules become comparable, portfolio reporting improves and delivery risk drops. Ideal for PMOs, engineering teams and delivery functions, the training can be tailored to your own project data so learning transfers straight to live work.

For organisations running capital, infrastructure or transformation projects, consistent Microsoft Project skills across the team create a shared planning language that supports better decisions and fewer schedule surprises.

    • Standardise project scheduling and reporting across teams and departments
    • Improve schedule accuracy and reduce costly delivery slippage
    • Give PMOs comparable plans, baselines and progress data across projects
    • Upskill whole teams together using your own live project scenarios
    • Strengthen resource and cost visibility on complex, multi-project programmes
    • Build in-house planning capability instead of relying on external contractors
    • Flexible delivery that fits team schedules onsite or live virtual

Where Microsoft Project Skills Lead in NamibiaRoles, Demand and Pay

Microsoft Project skills are in growing demand across Namibia as oil and gas, green hydrogen, mining and infrastructure investment drives a wave of complex, schedule-critical projects. Employers from mining houses and construction firms to banks, utilities and government now expect planners and project managers to control schedules in Microsoft Project, not spreadsheets, the practical capability that hands-on Microsoft Project training builds. That demand spans coordinator, planner, PMO and project manager roles, and here is what the market looks like right now.

Namibia's Delivery Challenges That Microsoft Project Solves

    Big Projects, Thin Planning Skills

Namibia's oil, hydrogen and mining boom is launching large, complex projects, but skilled schedulers who can plan and control them in Microsoft Project remain scarce, leaving delivery teams stretched.

    Build in-demand scheduling skills

    From Spreadsheets to Real Schedules

Many teams still track projects in spreadsheets that hide dependencies and slippage. Microsoft Project skills replace guesswork with critical-path schedules that show true progress and risk.

    Move beyond spreadsheet planning

    Resource Pressure on Capital Projects

Construction and infrastructure programmes compete for the same scarce engineers and crews. Resource levelling in Microsoft Project helps planners spot over-allocation before it delays delivery.

    Learn resource levelling

    Cost and Value Under Scrutiny

With capital efficiency under pressure across mining and finance, sponsors want cost and earned value tracking. Microsoft Project turns baselines into clear budget and performance reporting.

    Master cost and earned value

    Coordinating Multi-Site Programmes

Ports, corridors and energy projects run across many sites and contractors. Master projects and cross-project links in Microsoft Project bring these schedules into one controllable view.

    Manage master projects

    Reporting Leaders Can Trust

Executives backing N$151 billion of investment expect credible status reports. Microsoft Project dashboards and custom reports give PMOs board-ready visibility without raw project files.

Skills You Will Build in Microsoft ProjectMaster Every Stage of the Schedule

This Microsoft Project training builds practical, hands-on capability at two levels. Fundamentals covers scheduling, resources, baselines and tracking; Advanced adds levelling, earned value, custom reporting and multi-project management, all through live exercises.

Build and Structure a Project Schedule

Learn what you will do first in Microsoft Project: create a project, configure calendars, and enter a work breakdown structure of summary tasks, subtasks and milestones with realistic durations, ready to schedule.

Link Tasks and Find the Critical Path

Connect tasks using Finish-to-Start and other dependency types with lag and lead time, apply constraints and deadlines, and read the critical path to protect your project finish date.

    Assign and Level Resources

Create work, material and cost resources, assign them to tasks, spot over-allocation, and use resource levelling to balance workload across a busy project or programme.

    Track Progress and Analyse Variance

Set baselines, record actual progress with percent complete, and use the Tracking Gantt and variance tables to see which tasks have slipped and by how much.

    Manage Cost and Earned Value

Plan budgets, track actual cost, and calculate earned value metrics such as SPI and CPI in Microsoft Project to report true schedule and budget performance to sponsors.

    Report and Manage Multiple Projects

Build custom views, tables and visual reports, and use master projects and cross-project links to consolidate and report on several projects as one programme.

    Pricing

How much does Microsoft Project training cost in Namibia?

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training, structured courseware, hands-on exercises, downloadable practice materials, learner support and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Confirm exact inclusions when you enrol.

Do I need a Microsoft Project licence as well?

Yes. Microsoft Project is a separate product from Microsoft Corporation, so you should have it installed and accessible on your device for the hands-on exercises. Check whether a trial licence is provided when you book.

    Assessment

How will my learning be assessed?

Learning is assessed through hands-on practice rather than a written test. Throughout both levels you complete live Microsoft Project exercises using realistic project scenarios, so you build and demonstrate real scheduling skills as you go.

What will I receive after completing the training?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning that recognises the Microsoft Project skills you have built. It confirms you completed the Fundamentals or Advanced programme.

Will I be able to use Microsoft Project confidently at work?

Yes. The training is designed for immediate application. After Fundamentals you can build, resource and track a full schedule; after Advanced you can level resources, manage cost and earned value, and report across multiple projects.

Is this training suitable for beginners?

Yes. The Fundamentals level is built for people who are new to Microsoft Project. You start from creating a project and progress step by step, with the trainer demonstrating each feature before you practise it yourself.

Can I progress from Fundamentals to Advanced?

Yes. Many learners take Fundamentals first to build a solid base, then move to Advanced to master levelling, earned value, custom reporting and multi-project management. You can take the levels back to back or space them out.

    Course Content

What topics does Microsoft Project training cover?

Fundamentals covers project setup, calendars, tasks and the work breakdown structure, dependencies and the critical path, resources, baselines, tracking and reporting. Advanced adds resource levelling, cost and earned value, custom views and reports, and master-project programme management.

What will I learn at the Fundamentals level?

You will learn to create a project, build a task schedule with summary tasks, subtasks and milestones, link tasks with dependencies, assign work, material and cost resources, set baselines, track actual progress and produce built-in status reports.

What does the Advanced level add?

Advanced covers task types and advanced scheduling, resource pools and levelling, budget and earned value tracking, custom fields, tables, views and visual reports, and managing master projects with cross-project links for programme-level control.

    Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Both levels are delivered as live instructor-led sessions with continuous hands-on exercises in Microsoft Project. You follow each feature in the software using realistic project scenarios, so you practise as you learn.

Which version of Microsoft Project is used?

The training covers core Microsoft Project scheduling skills that apply across current desktop editions and Microsoft Project Online within Microsoft 365. Confirm the specific version used before your session so you can match your own setup.

How do I enrol in Microsoft Project training in Namibia?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your level and preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive joining details, schedules and access to your courseware. Talk to an advisor if you need help choosing.
