Careers Jira Skills Unlock in NamibiaIn-Demand Local Tech Roles

Jira is the standard delivery tool for software and IT teams, so confident Jira users are valued across Namibia's banking, telecom, mining, IT services and public-sector employers. As banks push digital channels, telcos modernise networks and mining and energy operations digitise, teams need people who can run boards, manage issues and report delivery well. Agile and Scrum practice already rank among the country's most in-demand 2026 skills, and Jira proficiency is what makes that practice work on the ground. Hands-on Jira training is what helps professionals turn that demand into a real career advantage.

What You Will Learn in This Jira CourseFrom Boards and Sprints to Automation

Skills covered in this Jira course span both levels, from everyday board and issue work through to advanced configuration and administration. By the end, you can set up projects, run Agile boards, write JQL, build dashboards and, at Advanced level, automate and administer Jira for a whole team.

Manage Issues Across the Jira Hierarchy

In this Jira course you learn to create and manage issues across the Epic, Story, Task, Bug and Subtask hierarchy, using fields like priority, assignee, labels, components and fix version to keep work clear and well organised.

Run Scrum Sprints on the Jira Board

Refine the backlog, estimate with story points, plan and start sprints, and manage the active Scrum board with swimlanes and quick filters. You also learn to complete sprints and read the Velocity Chart, Burndown Chart and Sprint Report.

Deliver Continuous Flow with Kanban Boards

Set up Kanban boards with WIP limits, configure columns and the Kanban backlog, and use roadmaps, versions and components to plan and track releases for teams working in continuous flow rather than fixed sprints.

Automate Work and Integrate the DevOps Toolchain

Build no-code automation rules with triggers, conditions and actions, and connect Jira to Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end delivery tracking, along with core Jira administration skills.

What is the JIRA training and who is it for?

JIRA training is a practical, hands-on skills course that teaches you to use Atlassian Jira for Agile project management, issue tracking and delivery reporting. It suits developers, testers, Scrum Masters, project managers, business analysts and Jira administrators, from beginners through to experienced users.

Is Jira training worth it in Namibia?

Yes. Jira is the standard delivery tool for software and IT teams, and Agile and Scrum practice ranks among Namibia's most in-demand 2026 skills. Confident Jira users are valued across banking, telecom, mining, IT services and the public sector, making this a practical, transferable skill.

What are the two levels of the Jira course?

The course is offered at two levels. Jira Fundamentals is a 2-day (16-hour) course for new or occasional users. Jira Advanced is a 3-day (24-hour) course for experienced users covering advanced workflows, schemes, automation, JQL, dashboards, integrations and administration. You can take either level or both.

Do I need prior Jira experience to attend?

No prior experience is needed for Jira Fundamentals; basic familiarity with web applications is enough. For Jira Advanced, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience, as it covers advanced configuration and administration.

Which version of Jira does the training cover?

The training reflects current Atlassian Jira, including Jira Cloud, which is Atlassian's primary delivery model, and Jira Data Center for self-managed enterprise use. You practise on a live Jira environment throughout the course.

    Pricing

How much does Jira training cost in Namibia?

Fees vary by level, delivery mode and group size, so pricing is available on request. Contact us for a quote for Jira Fundamentals, Jira Advanced or both, whether for an individual or a corporate team. Request a quote to see current options.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee includes instructor-led training across the chosen level, hands-on Jira exercises, structured courseware and reference guides, post-training email support, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for software, IT and business teams. Training can run on your own Jira projects and workflows. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a tailored quote.

Are there any extra costs for Jira software?

Jira is an Atlassian product, separate from the training. Jira Cloud offers a free tier for up to 10 users for practice, with paid plans and Data Center available from Atlassian. Confirm whether a shared training environment is provided when you enrol.

What payment options do you offer?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. For corporate bookings we can invoice your organisation. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the Jira course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course, so there is no examination at either level. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities throughout the training.

What do I receive after completing the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. It confirms that you have completed the programme and built practical Jira skills you can apply immediately at work; the skills do not expire and need no renewal.

    How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal exam or grading. Instead, you learn by doing: guided, hands-on exercises using realistic Agile delivery scenarios let you build and check your Jira proficiency as you progress through each module.

Does this course lead to an official Jira certification?

No. This is skills training focused on practical, on-the-job capability, not an accredited certification. Atlassian offers separate certification exams; this course builds the working Jira skills that help in day-to-day delivery and can support your wider learning.

Will these Jira skills stay useful over time?

Yes. The boards, issues, JQL, workflow and administration skills you build apply directly to how teams use Jira every day, and they do not expire or require renewal. Because Jira Cloud updates regularly, the course reflects current ways of working.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the Jira training?

Fundamentals covers navigation, projects, issues, Scrum and Kanban boards, sprints, roadmaps, versions, filters, basic JQL and Agile reports. Advanced covers workflows, schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, automation, integrations and Jira administration.

Will I get hands-on practice in Jira?

Yes. Both levels are exercise-led. You follow along in a live Jira environment while the trainer demonstrates each feature, then practise on realistic Agile software delivery and project scenarios to build real proficiency.

Does the course cover Jira automation and integrations?

Yes, at Advanced level. You learn to build no-code automation rules with triggers, conditions and actions, and to connect Jira to Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end DevOps delivery tracking.

Does the training cover Jira administration?

The Advanced level covers Jira administration, including user and group management, global configuration, project administration and governance best practices, so you can maintain a Jira instance for a whole team.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive structured courseware, module-by-module reference guides and practical exercise walkthroughs, plus post-training email support. Both levels are taught on a live Jira environment so you learn each feature by using it.
