What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PgMP worth it for professionals in Mauritius?

Yes. The PgMP validates senior programme leadership and positions you for roles such as Programme Manager, Head of PMO and Programme Director. These senior roles in Mauritius command pay well above the national average, and certified leaders are in demand across financial services, ICT and consulting.

Is the PgMP recognised in Mauritius?

Yes. The PgMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued by employers across Mauritius and worldwide, including banks, financial services firms, ICT and BPO companies, and large conglomerates that run strategy-critical programmes. Fewer than 3,000 practitioners hold it globally.

What standard is the PgMP based on?

The PgMP is based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline (ECO) and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, published by PMI. The exam is organised around five performance domains covering strategy, life cycle, benefits, stakeholders and governance.

How long is the PgMP valid and how is it renewed?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area, within every three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

Do I need a PMP before taking the PgMP?

No. A PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite for the PgMP. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How much does PgMP training cost in Mauritius?

PgMP training in Mauritius is available on request, as pricing varies by format and schedule. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current batch pricing.

How much is the PgMP exam fee?

For reference, PMI lists the PgMP exam at around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members, though prices vary by region. PMI membership costs about USD 139 a year and reduces the exam fee. Confirm current fees on pmi.org before you apply.

What happens if I do not pass the PgMP exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our practice questions, mock exams and trainer guidance are designed to help you prepare thoroughly for your first sitting.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 multiple-choice questions and a four-hour allotted time. It is a closed-book exam delivered via Pearson VUE, either online with OnVUE proctoring or at a test centre.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%).

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

Where can I take the PgMP exam in Mauritius?

You can sit the PgMP exam online with Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal within your one-year eligibility window.

Do I need prior experience to attend the training?

Anyone can attend the training to build programme management knowledge. To sit the PgMP exam, PMI requires substantial experience under one of three eligibility sets, so the course best suits experienced programme and senior project managers.
