The Risk Skills You Will BuildFrom Risk Strategy to Quantitative Analysis

Skills covered in PMI-RMP training span the full risk life cycle, from strategy and identification through analysis, response and monitoring. By the end of the programme you can quantify uncertainty and manage threats and opportunities with confidence.

Build the Risk Strategy and Plan

Establish the risk management approach, thresholds and governance for a project. Learn to tailor the risk management plan, define a risk breakdown structure and align strategy to predictive, agile or hybrid delivery, matching Domain I of the PMI-RMP ECO.

    Identify Threats and Opportunities

Facilitate identification using brainstorming, the Delphi technique, SWOT, and assumption and constraint analysis. Document risks in a clear cause-risk-effect format and validate the register for completeness across every project area.

    Run Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis

Prioritise risk with the probability and impact matrix, then apply Monte Carlo simulation, decision-tree analysis, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value to quantify exposure to cost, schedule and scope objectives.

    Plan and Implement Risk Responses

Select strategies for threats (avoid, transfer, mitigate, accept) and opportunities (exploit, share, enhance, accept). Assign owners, define triggers and contingency plans, and integrate reserves into the project baseline.

    Monitor and Close Risks

Track residual and secondary risks, run periodic risk reviews, and use reserve analysis and trend data to spot early warning signs. Report on the risk profile and formally close risks with lessons learned at project closure.

Apply Risk Across Agile and Hybrid Delivery

Manage uncertainty in predictive, agile and hybrid environments as reflected in the January 2022 ECO, and prepare for the 115-question exam with practice mapped to all five risk domains.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, analysing and responding to project risk. It is designed for project risk managers, senior project managers, risk analysts and PMO professionals who want their risk competence formally recognised.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, analysing and responding to project risk. It is designed for project risk managers, senior project managers, risk analysts and PMO professionals who want their risk competence formally recognised.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Luxembourg?

Yes. Luxembourg's €6.6 trillion fund industry, banking centre and CSSF governance rules are expanding risk teams, and risk manager roles average around €114,889 a year. A recognised risk credential helps you stand out for these in-demand roles. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Is PMP required before taking PMI-RMP?

No. PMP certification is not a prerequisite for PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your project risk management experience and education, though many holders pursue both because the credentials are complementary.

    Is the PMI-RMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PMI-RMP is recognised by employers worldwide. It is especially valued in high-risk, regulated sectors such as financial services, funds, energy and construction, where formal project risk management is expected.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) system.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP training fee?

The fee typically covers PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instruction, an exam simulator, mock exams, domain-wise practice questions, application guidance and learner support. Request a quote for the current price and available batches.

How much does the PMI-RMP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam separately, for reference around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members; verify current fees at pmi.org as they may vary by region. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost and gives access to the Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. The PMI exam fee is paid directly to PMI and is not part of the training fee. Your training covers the preparation, courseware and practice resources you need to sit the exam with confidence.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing in Luxembourg?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for risk teams, PMOs and delivery groups. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a tailored quote.

What payment methods and instalment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions to be completed in 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions, delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a test centre.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains under the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

How many attempts do I get for the PMI-RMP exam?

You may take up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period that begins when your application is approved. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts.

Which standard is the PMI-RMP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, and is aligned to the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the PMBOK Guide. It covers predictive, agile and hybrid risk approaches.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-RMP training?

You learn the full risk life cycle across the five ECO domains: risk strategy and planning, identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis, response planning, and monitoring and closing risks, using tools such as SWOT, the probability and impact matrix, Monte Carlo simulation and expected monetary value.

Can a beginner take this course, or do I need prior experience?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the PMI-RMP exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and education under one of three eligibility sets. Our trainers support learners at different levels and guide you on meeting the requirements.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes an exam simulator, full-length mock exams and domain-wise practice questions mapped to the 115-question format, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Does this training satisfy the PMI-RMP education requirement?

The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk management education, which fully satisfies the 30-hour requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree) candidates. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add at least 8 more hours of training.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PMI-RMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, covering predictive, agile and hybrid risk management.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements to earn PMI-RMP?

PMI offers three sets: Set A (secondary diploma, 36 months of risk experience in the last 5 years, 40 hours of education); Set B (bachelor's degree, 24 months of experience, 30 hours); and Set C (GAC-accredited degree, 12 months of experience, 30 hours). Experience must be specifically in project risk management.

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Speak with a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style.
