The PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and you have 230 minutes, that is 3 hours 50 minutes, to complete it. It is closed book, with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

There are four domains per the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is the largest, reflecting its centrality to construction delivery.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

Where can I take the PMI-CP exam?

You can sit the PMI-CP exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal within your one-year eligibility period.

What if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam the first time?

You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts on the PMI store.

What does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers the four PMI-CP domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance, aligned to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the current PMBOK Guide, plus PMI application and exam strategy.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

Before applying, all candidates must complete four self-paced PMI-CP modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment awarding 14 PDUs, 56 PDUs in total.

Does this training satisfy the PMI-CP education requirement?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of project management education required across all three eligibility sets. Check with our team on whether supplementary self-study is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

Is the courseware aligned with the current PMI-CP outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide, covering the four domains and the tasks and enablers tested in the exam.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 120-question, closed-book PMI-CP format, plus topic-wise checks to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-CP?

Eligibility is two-part. First, complete all four prerequisite modules. Second, meet one experience set: a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, each within the past 10 years, plus 35 contact hours of PM education.

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course in Luxembourg?
