What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer questions across five performance domains.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). Program Life Cycle Management carries the most weight.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass, can I retake the exam?

Yes. PMI allows up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts on the PMI store.

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?

The training covers the five performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus guidance on the PMI application, the panel review and exam strategy.

Can I take the PgMP if I am new to programme management?

The PgMP is a senior credential that expects substantial experience, so it is not an entry-level course. To sit the exam you must meet PMI's programme and project management experience requirements. The training helps experienced leaders consolidate knowledge and prepare.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, an overview of The Standard for Program Management, templates, flashcards and chapter-wise quizzes.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the ECO and the 170-question, four-hour format, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PgMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, the primary reference standard for the exam.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP?

PMI defines three sets. With a secondary diploma: 48 months project management experience or a PMP, plus 84 months programme experience. With a bachelor's degree: 48 months project plus 48 months programme experience. All experience must fall within the last 15 years.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

What training formats are available?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area, within every three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?
