What is included in the PfMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PfMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. For reference, it is around USD 800 for PMI members and USD 1,000 for non-members; verify current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership reduces the exam fee.

What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, 4th Edition. It uses scenario and situational questions across five performance domains.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and what is the duration?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. Focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented portfolio experience and competency. Both the panel review and the written exam must be passed to earn the credential.

What happens if I do not pass the exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams, exam simulator and trainer guidance are designed to build your readiness before you sit the exam.

What topics are covered in the PfMP training?

The training covers the five PfMP performance domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%), plus application and exam strategy.

Do I need prior experience to take this training?

Anyone can attend the training, and it is designed for senior professionals. To sit the PfMP exam, PMI requires substantial business experience plus portfolio management experience within the past 15 years, along with the panel review.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PfMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, a Standard for Portfolio Management overview, templates, flashcards and topic-wise quizzes.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness across the five domains.

Is the courseware aligned with the current PfMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PfMP Examination Content Outline.

What are the eligibility requirements to sit the PfMP exam?

PMI requires a secondary or four-year degree, plus at least 96 months (with a degree) or more of professional business experience and portfolio management experience within the past 15 years, along with a subject-matter-expert panel review. Anyone can enrol in the training.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?
