How long is the certification valid?

What is the format of the two BA exams?

Both are closed-book and delivered online proctored or at an accredited test location. The Foundation has 40 single-answer multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. The Practitioner has 40 scenario-based multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes.

What is the passing score for each exam?

The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct. You must pass both the Foundation and Practitioner papers to hold both credentials.

Are there prerequisites for the exams?

The Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner, which is why the combined programme takes you through both levels in sequence.

How do the Foundation and Practitioner exams differ?

The Foundation tests knowledge and comprehension across 14 topic areas with straightforward single-answer questions. The Practitioner tests application and analysis across 7 topic areas using scenario-based questions that present realistic project situations.

What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?
