    General

Is the PMI-RMP certification worth it in Ireland?

Yes. PMI-RMP is a globally recognised specialist credential that opens senior, well-paid risk roles across Ireland's biopharma, financial services, technology and construction sectors, where senior risk managers average around 82,500 to 98,500 euro per year. It sets certified specialists apart from general project managers.

    What is the PMI-RMP certification?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises expertise in assessing and identifying project risks, mitigating threats and capitalising on opportunities, and is aimed at professionals who specialise in risk on projects and programmes.

    Who should take PMI-RMP training?

PMI-RMP suits project risk managers, senior project managers, PMO and risk analysts, risk consultants and professionals in high-risk sectors such as construction, biopharma, energy and financial services. It is ideal for anyone specialising in project and programme risk.

    Is PMP required before PMI-RMP?

No. PMP certification is not a prerequisite for PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many holders do carry both, as the credentials are complementary, but PMP is not required.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system.

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our training includes practice questions, mock assessments and trainer guidance to build readiness, and selected plans offer retake support to help you prepare with confidence.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

Per the January 2022 ECO there are five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so focus on broad mastery across all five risk domains.

Where can I sit the PMI-RMP exam in Ireland?

You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre in Ireland. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website after your application is approved.

    Course Content

Can a beginner to risk management take this training?

The training welcomes those newer to formal risk work, though the PMI-RMP exam requires project risk management experience. Our trainers build concepts from the ground up across all five domains, with practice and support to help you apply them.

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers the five risk domains: risk strategy and planning, risk identification, risk analysis (qualitative and quantitative), risk response, and monitor and close risks, plus agile and hybrid risk approaches and exam strategy, aligned to the January 2022 ECO.

Does this training meet the PMI-RMP education requirement?

Yes. The programme provides 32 contact hours, which fully satisfies the 30-hour risk management education requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree) candidates. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add further study.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions mapped to the ECO, mock assessments and topic-wise quizzes aligned to the 115-question, 2.5-hour closed-book format to help you find weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMI-RMP exam outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline, effective January 2022, and to PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, covering both predictive and agile or hybrid risk approaches.
