Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMP (Project Management Professional) is PMI's flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers, validating your ability to lead projects using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches. It is designed for experienced project managers, team leads and delivery professionals ready to formalise and advance their careers.

    General

What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

The PMP (Project Management Professional) is PMI's flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers, validating your ability to lead projects using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches. It is designed for experienced project managers, team leads and delivery professionals ready to formalise and advance their careers.

Is the PMP certification worth it in Ireland?

Yes. In Ireland, certified project managers typically earn around 70,000 to 110,000 euro, and multinational tech, pharma and financial services employers often list the PMP as a requirement or strong preference for senior roles. With record foreign investment and growing demand, the credential offers a clear career return.

Is the PMP recognised in Ireland?

Yes. The PMP is recognised in over 200 countries and is widely valued across Ireland's technology, pharmaceutical, medtech, financial services and construction sectors. Because it is globally portable, you can also use the credential across Europe, North America and the Middle East without requalifying.

What are the prerequisites for the PMP?

There are two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary school qualification you need 60 months of leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours, which this training provides.

How long is the PMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMP is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 60 PDUs (Professional Development Units) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with a minimum of eight PDUs in each area, and report them through PMI's continuing certification system.

    Pricing

How much does PMP training cost in Ireland?

PMP training fees vary by format, such as live online, classroom or corporate group delivery. Pricing is available on request so we can match it to your needs. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the PMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, the 35 contact hours, practice questions, mock exams and exam simulator access, downloadable templates, PMI application guidance, learner support and a course completion certificate.

Is the PMP exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. For reference, it is around USD 405 for PMI members and USD 555 for non-members, and membership can reduce the cost. Confirm current fees on pmi.org before applying.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts for PMP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for project teams, PMOs and departments across Ireland. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

What payment methods and instalment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMP exam?

The PMP exam is a closed-book, computer-based exam based on the updated PMP Examination Content Outline aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition. It uses several question types, including multiple choice, multiple response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank, across scenario-based situations.

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

The PMP exam has 180 questions and lasts 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two scheduled 10-minute breaks. It is delivered by Pearson VUE, either online through OnVUE proctoring or at a test centre.

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed numeric pass mark. Your result is determined through psychometric analysis and reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all domains.

What if I do not pass the PMP exam the first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our practice tests, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass with confidence.

Which edition is the PMP exam based on?

The current PMP exam is aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition and the updated Examination Content Outline. Content is split roughly evenly between predictive delivery and agile or hybrid approaches, so our training prepares you across both.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMP training cover?

The training covers the updated ECO domains aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition: Project Management Fundamentals (15%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%) and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%), plus exam strategy.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can attend the training, which gives you the 35 contact hours. To sit the PMP exam, PMI requires project-leading experience: 36 months with a four-year degree, or 60 months with a secondary qualification. Our team can help you assess your eligibility.

Are practice tests, mock exams and assignments included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the exam, so you can identify weak areas and build readiness for the 180-question exam.

How do I earn the 35 contact hours of PM education?

The instructor-led PMP training is designed to provide the 35 contact hours of project management education that PMI requires as a prerequisite. You receive a certificate of completion documenting these hours for your PMI application.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition and the current PMP Examination Content Outline, covering both predictive and agile or hybrid delivery as reflected in the exam.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website and choose an upcoming batch. Once you complete payment, you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, self-paced e-learning and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

How do I apply for the PMP exam after training?

After the training, you create a PMI account, submit your application documenting your education and project experience, and pay the exam fee once approved. You then schedule the exam through Pearson VUE. Our team can guide you through the application and booking steps.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans include a Flexi Pass to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
