Risk Management Challenges Shaping Frankfurt's Market

    Digital Resilience Under DORA

Since DORA took effect, hundreds of serious ICT incidents have been reported to BaFin, most from credit institutions. Firms need structured risk management to govern digital operational resilience.

PMI-RMP builds risk strategy and planning skills

    Tighter Supervisory Expectations

BaFin's 2026 Risks in Focus and ECB priorities push firms from compliance checking to demonstrable resilience, creating demand for professionals who can assess and respond to project risk.

PMI-RMP builds risk analysis and response skills

    Financial-Hub Programme Complexity

Frankfurt banks and insurers run many concurrent regulatory, technology and transformation programmes, demanding disciplined threat and opportunity identification across the portfolio.

    PMI-RMP builds risk identification skills

    Third-Party and ICT Concentration

The sector depends on a small number of ICT providers, so outsourcing and concentration risk are under scrutiny. Certified risk managers help monitor and respond to these exposures.

PMI-RMP builds monitoring and control skills

    Scarcity of Certified Risk Specialists

Germany has a deep pool of project managers but far fewer credentialed project risk specialists. PMI-RMP's dedicated experience and exam make holders rare and sought-after.

PMI-RMP makes certified risk leaders stand out

    Capital and Cost Discipline

Margin and capital pressure across banking and insurance push firms to quantify exposure and protect value, raising demand for Monte Carlo, EMV and sensitivity analysis skills.

What is the PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)?

    Is PMP required before PMI-RMP?

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions to be completed in 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book with multiple-choice questions, delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a test centre, and is based on the January 2022 ECO.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains per the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-RMP?

Three sets apply. Set A: secondary diploma plus 36 months of risk experience and 40 hours of risk education. Set B: bachelor's degree plus 24 months and 30 hours. Set C: a GAC-accredited degree plus 12 months and 30 hours. Experience must be within the last five years.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our structured practice, mock questions and domain-focused preparation are designed to help you pass first time; reexamination fees apply to later attempts.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis and reported with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-RMP training?

You learn to set risk strategy, identify threats and opportunities, perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, plan and implement responses, and monitor and close risks. Content maps to all five ECO domains and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

Does the training satisfy the PMI-RMP education requirement?

The 32 contact hours fully satisfy the 30-hour education requirement for Set B and Set C candidates. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should supplement with at least 8 additional hours of risk management education.

Which risk analysis tools are covered?

You practise qualitative tools such as the probability and impact matrix, and quantitative tools including Monte Carlo simulation, decision tree analysis, sensitivity analysis (tornado diagrams) and expected monetary value, plus response and monitoring techniques.

Is the courseware aligned with the current ECO?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, which covers predictive, agile and hybrid risk management, along with the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

Do I need prior risk experience to attend?
