    The Black Belt exam is closed book with 150 multiple-choice questions. Some forms add up to 15 unscored pretest questions. You have four hours, with extra time available for non-native speakers and candidates with a disability.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 150 scored multiple-choice questions, with up to 15 additional unscored questions on some forms. The time allowed is four hours, or 240 minutes.

    What is the passing score for the LSSBB exam?

    You need a minimum of 580 points out of 750 to pass. Questions are weighted across the five DMAIC phases, so broad mastery of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control matters most.

    How and where do I sit the exam?

    You can take the exam online with 24/7 proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Both options use the same closed-book format based on the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Body of Knowledge.

    What is the exam application process?

    After your training, review the Black Belt Body of Knowledge, then purchase your exam voucher online. Choose online proctored delivery or a Pearson VUE centre, schedule your sitting, and complete the 150-question, four-hour exam. An optional readiness self-check is available before you book.

    What if I do not pass on the first attempt?
