Why Design-Quality Skills Are in Demand Across Chile

    Late Design Fixes Drain Margins

In Chilean manufacturing and mining supply, much of the cost of poor quality is locked in at design. Teams that catch defects only after launch pay the 1-10-100 penalty; DFSS designs it out early.

DFSS moves quality upstream to the design stage

    New Products Miss Customer Needs

Food, beverage and consumer goods firms competing for export markets lose ground when launches skip structured Voice of the Customer and QFD, shipping features buyers never asked for.

DFSS builds Voice of the Customer and QFD skills

    Reliability in Harsh Conditions

Equipment and process designs that fail in Chile's demanding mining and Andean environments cause costly downtime. Robust design and Design FMEA build tolerance to real-world variation in from the start.

DFSS builds robust design and Design FMEA skills

    Design-For-Quality Talent Gap

Chile plans to train 34,000 more technical workers by 2032, yet engineers who can apply DMADV and design-quality tools stay scarce, making the skill a clear differentiator for careers and employers.

DFSS makes design-quality engineers stand out

Design for Six Sigma is more than a method. It is how Chile's best product and process teams build quality in from the start. Join engineers who design it right the first time. Start today.

    Your Chile Capability Shift

From Fixing Defects to Designing Them Out

    Your DFSS Transformation

Chile's mining, manufacturing and consumer sectors are investing in new products and processes, and employers increasingly separate teams that design quality in from those that fix defects later. Here is the shift DFSS training delivers.

    Today

Quality problems surface after launch, driving rework, scrap and warranty cost

    After DFSS

You design quality in upfront, cutting costly late fixes and field failures

    Today

New designs rely on opinion and the loudest voice in the room

    After DFSS

You choose concepts objectively with the Pugh matrix and Design FMEA evidence

    Today

Your delivery skills are strong, but design-for-quality tools are missing

    After DFSS

You add DMADV, QFD and robust design to lead new product development in Chile

    You master DFSS

    Before

Design decisions traced to guesswork, not real customer requirements

    Now you have

A DMADV method that links every design choice back to the Voice of the Customer

    Before

No structured way to catch design failures before production

    Now you have

Design FMEA and robust design skills that reduce risk before launch

    Before

Limited recognition when moving between sectors or employers

    Now you have

A widely applicable design-quality skillset valued across Chilean industry

    Before

Six Sigma limited to improving what already exists

    Now you have

The design counterpart to DMAIC, so you create new products right first time

"The gap between delivering projects and designing them right the first time is a set of tools, and the teams that matter are already learning them."

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training is a practical, one-day course that teaches you to design new products, services and processes to Six Sigma quality from the start. It covers the DMADV roadmap and tools such as VOC, QFD, the Pugh matrix, Design FMEA and robust design.

    General

What is Design for Six Sigma training?

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training is a practical, one-day course that teaches you to design new products, services and processes to Six Sigma quality from the start. It covers the DMADV roadmap and tools such as VOC, QFD, the Pugh matrix, Design FMEA and robust design.

Is Design for Six Sigma training worth it for my career?

Yes. DFSS gives you design-stage quality skills that Chilean employers in mining, manufacturing, food and consumer goods value highly. You learn to prevent defects rather than fix them, which supports roles from Design and Quality Engineer to R&D and Engineering Manager.

    Who should attend the training?

The course suits design and systems engineers, R&D professionals, new product development managers, quality and manufacturing engineers, and Six Sigma practitioners who want to add the design side to their toolkit. Anyone developing new products or processes will benefit.

What is the difference between DFSS and DMAIC?

DMAIC improves existing processes that fall short, while DFSS designs new products, services and processes right the first time using the DMADV roadmap. This course covers DFSS and DMADV. Many organisations use both: DMAIC to improve, DFSS to design.

Do I need prior Six Sigma knowledge to join?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma ideas such as CTQ and variation helps, but the course introduces every DFSS tool and the DMADV method from first principles.

    Pricing

How much does Design for Six Sigma training cost in Chile?

Fees depend on your delivery format, group size and schedule, so pricing is available on request. Public live virtual, classroom and corporate options are offered. Contact a learning advisor for a quote for your preferred format.

What is included in the training fee?

Your fee typically covers instructor-led training across all six DMADV modules, hands-on tool exercises, learning materials and templates, learner support, and a course completion record from Invensis Learning.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. Corporate group training comes with tailored schedules and volume-based pricing for engineering, R&D and quality teams. Ask about corporate and group pricing for your organisation in Chile.

    What payment methods are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that fits you.

Is there a separate fee for the completion record?

No. The course completion record from Invensis Learning is included in your training fee. There is no separate assessment fee, as this is a skills-based, non-certification course.

    Assessment

Is there a test at the end of the training?

No. This is a non-certification course with no test. Learning is reinforced through hands-on DFSS tool exercises, case examples and team discussion across the one-day programme.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to run a DMADV project, capture Voice of the Customer with the Kano model, translate needs into CTQs, build a QFD House of Quality, select concepts with the Pugh matrix, conduct a Design FMEA, apply robust design and plan design verification.

Do I receive anything on completion?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. This is a practical, non-certification programme, so the value is in the design-quality skills you can apply immediately rather than an external credential.

How is learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. You apply each tool through hands-on exercises and realistic design scenarios during the day, practising VOC to CTQ flow-down, QFD, concept selection and Design FMEA as you learn.

Is this the same as a Six Sigma belt programme?

No. DFSS training is a focused skills course on designing quality in, not a belt programme. It complements Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt learning by adding the DMADV design methodology to your toolkit.
