What is the PfMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PfMP worth it for professionals in Lausanne?

Is the PfMP recognised in Switzerland?

Do I need PMP or PgMP before the PfMP?

How long is the PfMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PfMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240 minute) allotted time. It is a closed-book, multiple-choice exam delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a test centre.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. Both the panel review and the written exam must be passed to earn the credential.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers five performance domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%), aligned to the current PfMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis and reported with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains rather than a target percentage.

What happens if I do not pass the exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our preparation and revision support helps you go in ready to pass.

What topics does the PfMP training cover?

The training covers the five PfMP performance domains: Strategic Alignment, Governance, Portfolio Performance, Portfolio Risk Management and Communications Management, plus guidance on the PfMP application, panel review and exam strategy.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PfMP Examination Content Outline, so you study the material the exam is built on.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Do I need prior experience to attend the training?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires substantial business and portfolio management experience within the last 15 years. Our advisors can help you confirm your eligibility path before you apply.

Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme.
