How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). Questions include single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice formats.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%). Aim for broad mastery across all five.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. You must pass both the panel review and the written exam to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the exam, can I retake it?

Yes. PMI permits up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts on the PMI store before rebooking.

There are three sets: Set A (secondary diploma) needs 120 months of business experience plus 84 months of portfolio management experience; Set B (bachelor's degree) needs 120 plus 48 months; Set C (GAC-accredited degree) needs 120 plus 36 months, all within the last 15 years. A panel review also applies.
