Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is PMI's flagship credential for professionals who lead projects and teams. It suits project managers, team leads and delivery professionals in Botswana with experience leading projects who want a globally recognised qualification.

    General

What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is PMI's flagship credential for professionals who lead projects and teams. It suits project managers, team leads and delivery professionals in Botswana with experience leading projects who want a globally recognised qualification.

Is the PMP worth it for professionals in Botswana?

Yes. The PMP is recognised in over 200 countries and is sought by Botswana's mining, banking, energy and infrastructure employers delivering Vision 2036 projects. PMI reports PMP holders earn around 20% more than non-certified peers globally.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMP?

There are two paths: a four-year degree with 36 months of leading projects, or a secondary diploma with 60 months of leading projects. Both require 35 contact hours of project management education, which this training provides.

Which standard is the current PMP exam based on?

The exam is based on the current PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition, PMI's latest reference standard covering predictive, agile and hybrid approaches.

How long is the PMP certification valid?

The PMP is valid for three years. You maintain it by earning 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification cycle.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMP training fee?

The fee typically covers PMI-aligned courseware, scenario-based practice, mock exams, an exam simulator, downloadable templates, application guidance, learner support and a completion certificate with contact hours. The PMI exam fee is separate. Request a quote for details.

How much does PMP training cost in Botswana?

PMP training in Botswana is priced by format and cohort, and exact fees are available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing. Talk to a learning advisor for current Botswana pricing.

How much is the PMP exam fee?

For reference, PMI lists around USD 405 for members and USD 555 for non-members, though prices vary by region. PMI membership (about USD 139 a year) lowers the exam fee and gives free access to the PMBOK Guide. Confirm current fees at pmi.org.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams, PMOs and departments. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMP exam?

The PMP exam is a closed-book, computer-based test using multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank questions, based on the current ECO and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 180 questions and runs for 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two 10-minute scheduled breaks.

What are the PMP exam domains and weights?

The current exam has five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (15%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I sit the exam and how many attempts do I get?

You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMP course?

You will learn to lead projects using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches across the five PMP domains, covering scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, business analysis and stakeholder engagement, plus exam strategy.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the PMP exam, PMI requires project leadership experience and 35 contact hours of education. Our trainers support learners at every level with clear, practical explanations.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes scenario-based practice questions, full-length mock exams and an exam simulator to help you identify weak areas and build readiness for the real test.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition, so you study the same standards the exam is based on.
