    General

What is the CAPM certification and who is it for?

CAPM is the Project Management Institute's entry-level credential, proving your understanding of core project management terminology, processes and delivery approaches. It is designed for students, recent graduates, career changers and project team members with little or no project experience.

Is CAPM worth it in Botswana?

Yes. As Botswana diversifies beyond diamonds into ICT, financial services and infrastructure, employers are building project teams and value recognised credentials. CAPM helps you qualify for entry roles such as project coordinator and officer, where certified staff often command a pay premium.

Do I need work experience to take CAPM?

No. CAPM is the only PMI practitioner credential that requires no project management work experience. You need a secondary degree, such as a high school diploma or global equivalent, plus 23 hours of project management education, which this training provides.

Is CAPM recognised internationally and in Botswana?

Yes. CAPM is a PMI credential recognised in more than 200 countries, including Botswana. Employers accept it as a credible signal of foundational project management knowledge and a commitment to the profession.

How long is the CAPM certification valid?

CAPM is valid for three years from the date you certify. Unlike PMP and most other PMI credentials, you renew CAPM by retaking and passing the exam within the cycle, not by earning PDUs.
