    Assessment

    Is there an exam or test for this course?

    No. This is a non-certification skills course, so there is no examination at either level. Your learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Microsoft Project exercises throughout the programme.

    How is my learning reinforced during the training?

    You learn by doing. Throughout both levels you follow the trainer and build real schedules in Microsoft Project using realistic project scenarios, so you practise every feature as you go rather than sitting a formal assessment.

    What will I be able to do after the Fundamentals level?

    After Fundamentals you can create a project and configure calendars, build a task list with summary tasks and milestones, link tasks with dependencies, identify the critical path, assign resources, set a baseline and track progress with the Tracking Gantt.

    What will I be able to do after the Advanced level?

    After Advanced you can apply the different task types correctly, connect a shared resource pool, run resource levelling, calculate and report Earned Value metrics, build custom views and reports, and consolidate subprojects into a master project.

    What do I receive on completion?

    You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning that recognises the practical Microsoft Project skills you have built. There is no renewal to manage, and the skills are immediately applicable to your projects.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Fundamentals level cover?

    Fundamentals covers project setup and calendars, work breakdown structures, task durations and milestones, dependencies and the critical path, work, material and cost resources, baselines, progress tracking and built-in reports. It runs over 2 days (16 hours).

    What does the Advanced level cover?

    Advanced covers advanced scheduling and task types, resource pools and levelling, cost management and Earned Value, custom fields, views and reports, master projects and cross-project dependencies, and what-if scenario planning. It runs over 3 days (24 hours).

    Do I need prior experience to join?

    Fundamentals has no prerequisites, though basic familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office helps. Advanced expects you to have completed Fundamentals or to have equivalent hands-on experience using Microsoft Project.

    Do I need Microsoft Project installed beforehand?

    Yes. You should have Microsoft Project installed and accessible on your device before the session so you can follow the hands-on exercises. Contact us if you need guidance on software access before your training.

    Are the courseware and exercises hands-on?
