The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as a coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits experienced programme managers, delivery leads, PMO heads and senior practitioners. Fewer than 3,000 professionals worldwide hold it, making it a rare differentiator.

Do I need PMP before taking PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite for PgMP. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle, with a minimum of eight PDUs in each area.

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee usually includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and members pay less than non-members. PMI individual membership also lowers the exam and renewal costs. Confirm current fees on the PMI store before applying.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. Questions are distributed across five performance domains and include scenario-based items.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the five PgMP exam domains and their weights?

The five domains are Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), aligned to the current PgMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented programme experience. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams and prep support are designed to help you build readiness across all five domains before you sit.

Course Content

What will I learn in the PgMP training?

You will learn to align programmes to strategy, manage the full programme life cycle, realise benefits, engage stakeholders and lead governance. The training maps to the five PgMP performance domains and includes application and exam strategy.

What standard and syllabus is the courseware based on?

The courseware is aligned to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, 4th Edition, from PMI, so your preparation matches what the exam and panel review assess.

Are practice tests, mock exams and materials included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator, templates, flashcards and topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

How many contact hours does the PgMP training provide?

The instructor-led programme provides 24 contact hours of training, delivered flexibly. PgMP has no mandatory contact-hour prerequisite, so these hours serve as exam preparation and knowledge consolidation for experienced candidates.

Do I get a certificate after completing the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned. The PgMP credential itself is awarded by PMI after you pass the panel review and exam.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP exam?

Anyone can enrol in the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires either a secondary diploma with 48 months of project experience (or an active PMP) plus 84 months of programme experience, or a four-year degree with 48 months of each, all within the past 15 years, plus a panel review.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

What training formats are available in Ukraine?
