    What is the format of the EXIN BCS exams?

    There are two separate exams. The Foundation exam has 40 closed-book, single-answer multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. The Practitioner exam has 40 closed-book, scenario-based multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. Both are aligned to the EXIN BCS Examination Specifications.

    What is the passing score for each exam?

    The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct. You must pass both the Foundation and Practitioner exams to hold both credentials.

    How do the Foundation and Practitioner exams differ?

    Foundation tests knowledge and comprehension of business analysis concepts across 14 topic areas using straightforward single-answer questions. Practitioner tests the application of BA techniques across seven topic areas using scenario-based questions that present realistic project situations.

    Do I need to pass Foundation before Practitioner?

    The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level. The combined programme is designed to be taken in sequence, with Foundation covered first and Practitioner second.

    Where can I sit the exams and what if I do not pass?

    You can sit both exams online through EXIN's proctored system or at an accredited testing location, usually arranged with your training provider. If you do not pass, you can re-sit; verify the current re-sit policy and any fee with EXIN. Ask us about retake support options.
