What is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner course and who is it for?

Is PRINCE2 worth it for professionals in Rwanda?

Yes. PRINCE2 is a globally recognised method valued by government bodies, banks, ICT firms and donor-funded programmes across Rwanda. As Vision 2050 drives infrastructure and digital projects, certified project professionals are in demand and command strong salary bands, from Project Manager to Head of PMO.

Which edition of PRINCE2 does this course follow?

The course is aligned to PRINCE2 7, the 7th Edition published in 2023 by PeopleCert and AXELOS. PRINCE2 7 introduces the People capability, renames Themes to Practices, and integrates agile and sustainability considerations across the method.

Do I need to pass Foundation before Practitioner?

Yes. The two levels are taken in sequence. You sit and pass the closed-book Foundation exam first, then the open-book Practitioner exam. The combined programme prepares you for both, and PRINCE2 Foundation is the prerequisite for the Practitioner exam.

How long are the PRINCE2 certifications valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. Practitioner can be renewed by retaking the exam, completing CPD through a PeopleCert MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher-level PRINCE2 qualification. Confirm current renewal options at peoplecert.org.

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in Rwanda?

Training fees vary by format, whether live virtual, classroom or corporate group training, and are available on request. The PeopleCert exam fees for Foundation and Practitioner are billed separately. Request a quote from a learning advisor for current pricing in your preferred format.

What is included in the PRINCE2 course fee?

The training fee typically includes PeopleCert-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. Exam vouchers may be bundled in some packages. Confirm the inclusions for your chosen plan when you request a quote.

Are the exam fees part of the training price?

Exam fees are set by PeopleCert and can be bundled with training or purchased separately, depending on the package. Because pricing varies by region and channel, we confirm the exact exam and training amounts when you enquire. Talk to a learning advisor for a full breakdown.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 60 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 60 minutes. It is closed book with a single-answer format, and the pass mark is 60 percent, meaning 36 correct out of 60. It tests knowledge and comprehension of the PRINCE2 method.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, over 150 minutes. It is open book, with the PRINCE2 7 manual permitted, and uses scenario-based questions. The pass mark is 60 percent, which is 42 out of 70 marks.

Where can I take the PRINCE2 exams in Rwanda?

Both exams are delivered by PeopleCert, either online through the OnVUE proctored system available 24/7, or at an authorised test centre. Many candidates take the online proctored option from home or office in Rwanda.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can resit the exam through PeopleCert; a resit fee applies. Our training includes mock exams, timed practice and revision support to help you prepare thoroughly. Selected plans include retake support, so ask a learning advisor about the options.

Are there prerequisites for the exams?

PRINCE2 Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. Practitioner requires PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A to D. Verify current accepted equivalents at peoplecert.org.

What topics does the PRINCE2 training cover?

The training covers the seven principles, the People capability, the seven practices (Business Case, Organizing, Plans, Quality, Risk, Issues and Progress) and the seven processes, plus tailoring. Practitioner adds applying and tailoring the method to project scenarios.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. Foundation has no prerequisites, so beginners and those new to PRINCE2 can start here. The combined programme builds from method knowledge to applied practice, with trainer support and practice materials to help newcomers reach Practitioner level.

What learning materials are provided?

You receive PeopleCert-aligned courseware, practice questions, full-length mock exams, downloadable templates, quizzes and flashcards mapped to the PRINCE2 7 syllabus, along with guidance on navigating the manual for the open-book Practitioner exam.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PRINCE2 syllabus?

Yes. The courseware follows PRINCE2 7 (7th Edition, 2023), aligned to the current PeopleCert Foundation and Practitioner syllabuses and the PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects manual.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate after meeting the training requirements. The PRINCE2 credentials themselves are awarded by PeopleCert once you pass the Foundation and Practitioner exams.
