Is the PgMP worth it for senior professionals in Rwanda?

What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

The PgMP is PMI's advanced credential for professionals who manage a coordinated programme of related projects to deliver strategic benefits. It suits senior programme managers, PMP holders moving up, and PMO or delivery leaders with substantial programme experience.

Is the PgMP recognised in Rwanda?

Yes. The PgMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued by employers in Rwanda and worldwide, including ICT firms, banks, energy utilities and government programmes. Fewer than 3,000 practitioners hold it, which makes it a distinctive differentiator.

Is PMP required before the PgMP?

No. PMP certification is not mandatory. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three PgMP eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area, within the three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

How much does PgMP training cost in Rwanda?

Instructor-led PgMP training in Rwanda is priced by format and cohort, so it is available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, application and panel-review support, learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Talk to a learning advisor for the full inclusions.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. For reference the exam is around USD 800 for PMI members and USD 1,000 for non-members; membership also lowers renewal costs. Confirm current fees at pmi.org.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts for PgMP training?

What payment methods and instalment options are available?

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and our training includes mock exams and prep support to build readiness. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm current amounts at pmi.org.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. It is closed book, with multiple-choice question formats, and results are reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement by domain.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. Both the panel review and the written exam must be passed to earn the credential.

Where can I take the PgMP exam in Rwanda?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal within your one-year eligibility window.

Course Content

Do I need prior experience to take PgMP training?

The training is built for experienced managers. To sit the exam, PMI requires substantial project and programme management experience under one of three eligibility sets. Anyone can attend the training, and we help you assess your eligibility and document your hours.

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: strategic programme management, programme life cycle management, benefits management, stakeholder engagement and governance, plus the application, panel review and exam strategy.

Which standard and edition is the training aligned to?

The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline, so your preparation matches what the exam evaluates.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the PgMP Examination Content Outline, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you find weak areas and build exam readiness.

Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme, which support your professional development record.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol in PgMP training?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose live virtual, self-paced or corporate group training, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

What are the eligibility requirements to earn the PgMP?

PMI requires one of three sets: with a secondary diploma, 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP plus 84 months of programme management experience; with a four-year degree, 48 months plus 48 months. All experience must fall within the past 15 years.

What training formats are available (online, classroom, self-paced)?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, self-paced e-learning and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style in Rwanda.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?
