    Is Primavera P6 training worth it in Rwanda?

    Yes. Rwanda's capital-projects pipeline is growing and skilled planners are scarce, so practical P6 skills help you qualify for scheduler, planning and project controls roles and apply the tool on live projects immediately. There is no exam to sit.

    Do I need experience before learning Primavera P6?

    No. The Fundamentals level assumes no prior P6 experience; basic familiarity with project concepts helps but is not required. The Advanced level is for those who have completed Fundamentals or already use P6 regularly.

    Is there an exam for Primavera P6 training?

    No. Neither the Fundamentals nor the Advanced level includes an examination. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Primavera P6 exercises throughout, so you build proficiency by practising in the tool rather than sitting a test.

    What do I receive after completing the training?

    You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning confirming the level you completed. There is no external credential; the value is the practical P6 scheduling and project controls skills you can apply straight away at work.

    How is my progress assessed during the course?

    There is no formal assessment. Throughout both levels you work through realistic project scenarios with the trainer, building and controlling schedules in P6 so you can check your understanding as you practise each feature.

    Should I take Fundamentals or Advanced?

    Take Fundamentals if you are new to P6 or use it occasionally. Take Advanced if you already use P6 and want resource and cost loading, earned value, Claim Digger, multi-project control and custom reporting. You can take either alone or both in sequence.

    How long does each level of the training take?

    Fundamentals runs over 2 days (16 hours) and Advanced over 3 days (24 hours). Both are available as full-day or extended part-day formats. Ask about current schedules when you enquire.

    Course Content

    What does the Primavera P6 Fundamentals course cover?

    Fundamentals covers the enterprise project structure (EPS, OBS, WBS), creating projects, activity types and calendars, relationships and the critical path, resource assignment, baselines, progress updating with physical percent complete, and basic layouts and reports.

    What does the Primavera P6 Advanced course cover?

    Advanced covers advanced scheduling options, schedule quality checks, resource and cost loading, cost accounts and S-curves, earned value management, baseline comparison and Claim Digger, multi-project and enterprise control, and custom reporting with Excel integration.

    Which Primavera P6 skills will I gain?

    You will be able to build and schedule activity networks, read the critical path and float, assign resources, set baselines, track progress, cost-load schedules, calculate earned value metrics such as SPI and CPI, and produce project control reports.

    Is the Primavera P6 training hands-on?

    Yes. Both levels are taught with live Primavera P6 exercises on realistic construction, engineering and capital-project scenarios. You follow along in P6 as the trainer demonstrates each feature, so you learn by doing rather than by theory alone.

    What project controls frameworks does the training relate to?

    P6 is the tool used to apply project controls methods such as the critical path method and earned value management, and it supports schedules on FIDIC and NEC contracts. The training focuses on applying these methods through Oracle Primavera P6.
