    Exam

    What is the format of the PfMP exam?

    The exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario and situational questions across five performance domains.

    How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

    The PfMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

    PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis and reported with domain-level feedback, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

    What is the PfMP panel review?

    The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It must be passed alongside the written exam to earn the credential, and our training helps you prepare your application for it.

    What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

    PMI permits up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our practice resources and prep support are designed to help you pass with confidence. Confirm current fees on the PMI store.

    Course Content

    What topics are covered in the PfMP training?

    The training covers the five PfMP performance domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%), plus application and exam strategy.

    Which standard and edition is the training based on?

    The courseware is aligned to The Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition, from PMI, and the current PfMP Examination Content Outline, so your preparation matches what the exam actually tests.

    Are practice tests, mock exams and assignments included?

    Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

    Do I need prior experience to benefit from the training?

    Anyone can attend the training, and it is designed for experienced professionals. To sit the exam, PMI requires substantial business and portfolio management experience, and our trainers help you map your background to the eligibility requirements.

    Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

    Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme.

    Enrollment

    What are the eligibility requirements to earn PfMP?

    PMI offers three eligibility sets. With a secondary diploma you need 120 months of business experience and 84 months of portfolio experience; with a four-year degree, 120 months of business experience and 48 months of portfolio experience; a GAC-accredited degree reduces the portfolio requirement to 36 months. All experience must fall within the last 15 years.

    How do I enrol in the PfMP course in Rwanda?

    You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you would like help choosing a batch.

    What training formats are available in Rwanda?
