Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMP is the Project Management Institute's flagship, globally recognised project management credential. It validates your ability to lead and direct projects and teams using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches. It suits project managers, team leads, coordinators and consultants with project experience.

    General

What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

The PMP is the Project Management Institute's flagship, globally recognised project management credential. It validates your ability to lead and direct projects and teams using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches. It suits project managers, team leads, coordinators and consultants with project experience.

Is the PMP worth it for professionals in Rwanda?

Yes. As Vision 2050 and digital and infrastructure investment expand Rwanda's project economy, employers in ICT, banking, construction and government value certified project leaders. Project managers in Kigali average around RWF 10.5M per year, and certified professionals report a salary premium of roughly 20%.

What are the prerequisites for the PMP?

There are two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary diploma you need 60 months of leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours, which this training provides.

Is the PMP recognised in Rwanda and internationally?

Yes. The PMP is recognised in more than 200 countries and is widely regarded as the global gold standard of project management certification. Rwandan employers, government programmes and international organisations reference it in job specifications and procurement requirements.

How long is the PMP valid and how is it renewed?

The PMP is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 60 PDUs (Professional Development Units) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, reported through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system.

How does the PMP differ from the PMI-ACP?

The PMP covers all delivery approaches, predictive, agile and hybrid, and is a broad, senior project management credential. The PMI-ACP is agile-specific. Many professionals hold both, using the PMI-ACP to deepen agile expertise alongside the PMP.

    Pricing

How much does PMP training cost in Rwanda?

Training fees vary by format, such as live online, classroom or corporate group training. The best way to get an accurate figure is to request a quote for your preferred option. Request a quote or talk to a learning advisor for current pricing.

What is included in the PMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 35 contact hours, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, PMI application support and a course completion certificate. Ask a learning advisor for the full inclusions of your chosen plan.

Is the PMP exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and PMI members pay a lower fee than non-members. Confirm current exam and membership fees on pmi.org before you apply.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts for PMP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for project teams, PMOs and departments in Rwanda. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

What payment methods and instalment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMP exam?

The PMP exam has 180 questions to be completed in 230 minutes, including two 10-minute breaks. It uses multiple question types, including multiple choice, multiple response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank, based on the current PMP Examination Content Outline.

What domains does the PMP exam cover?

The updated exam, aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, spans five domains: Project Management Fundamentals (15%), Predictive Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. Your result is determined through psychometric analysis and reported with domain-level feedback, so focus on broad mastery across all domains rather than a single target score.

Where can I take the PMP exam in Rwanda?

You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through the Pearson VUE website or PMI's portal within your one-year eligibility window.

How many attempts do I get, and what if I do not pass first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our exam-prep support, mock exams and simulator are designed to help you prepare thoroughly for a first-time pass.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMP training cover?

The training covers the full exam content aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition: project management fundamentals, predictive and agile delivery, business analysis and strategy, and stakeholder engagement, plus practical exam strategy and PMI application guidance.

Can a beginner take this course, or do I need experience?

Anyone can attend the training, and it is structured to build understanding step by step. To sit the PMP exam, though, PMI requires project leadership experience and 35 contact hours of education, which this programme provides.

Does the training provide the 35 contact hours needed to apply?

Yes. The programme delivers the 35 contact hours of project management education that PMI requires as part of the PMP eligibility criteria, so you can apply with confidence.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator, downloadable templates, chapter-wise quizzes and flashcards, along with post-training support to reinforce your learning.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMP exam?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, the primary reference PMI now uses for the exam, so you prepare against the latest standard.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the PMP course in Rwanda?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style in Rwanda.

How soon can I start the PMP training?

New batches run regularly across live online and classroom formats. See upcoming schedules or speak with a learning advisor to pick the next cohort that suits you.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans include a Flexi Pass to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
