    The path to Online PMI-ACP certification follows a streamlined exam-based process. After completing the required training and obtaining PMI approval, candidates proceed directly to the certification examination administered through Pearson VUE. Unlike some senior PMI credentials, PMI-ACP does not require a peer-panel review. Most candidates complete the journey from training to certification within 6–10 weeks, depending on preparation time and application processing.

    Step 1: Confirm PMI-ACP Eligibility

    Verify you meet the PMI-ACP eligibility requirements: a secondary degree (high school diploma, associate's, or global equivalent); 2,000 hours (12 months) of general project experience within the last 5 years; at least 1,500 hours (8 months) of agile project experience within the last 3 years (in addition to the general project experience); and 21 contact hours in agile practices.     What is the PMI-ACP certification and who is it for?

    The PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) is PMI's cross-framework agile credential covering Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and TDD. It suits Scrum Masters, product owners, agile coaches, project managers and delivery leads who work in agile or hybrid environments and want to validate their experience.

    What are the prerequisites for the PMI-ACP?

    You need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience in the last 5 years, 1,500 hours of agile project experience in the last 3 years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. PMP or PgMP holders already meet the general project experience requirement.

    Is the PMI-ACP recognised in Rwanda?

    Yes. The PMI-ACP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued by employers in Rwanda and worldwide, including banks, fintechs, telecoms, ICT firms and government digital-service teams that deliver products iteratively.

    How long is the PMI-ACP valid and how do I renew it?

    The PMI-ACP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 professional development units (PDUs) in agile topics within each three-year cycle and report them through PMI's continuing certification requirements system.

    The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 24 contact hours of training, practice questions, full-length mock exams, application guidance and learner support. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Request a quote for the full inclusions.

    How much does PMI-ACP training cost in Rwanda?

    Is the exam fee included in the training price?

    No. PMI bills the PMI-ACP exam fee separately in USD. For reference, PMI members pay around USD 435 and non-members around USD 495; verify current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost and provides access to the Agile Practice Guide.

    Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

    What is the format of the PMI-ACP exam?

    The PMI-ACP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline published in January 2018. Questions are distributed across seven agile domains and delivered online proctored or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The PMI-ACP exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 3 hours. Questions are spread across the seven agile domains in the Examination Content Outline, covering everything from Agile Principles and Mindset to Continuous Improvement.

    What is the passing score for the PMI-ACP exam?

    PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all seven domains.

    What if I do not pass the first time?

    You may sit the exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period, and a PMI re-examination fee applies to later attempts. Our mock exams and practice questions are designed to build your readiness before you sit, reducing the risk of a resit.

    Where can I take the PMI-ACP exam in Rwanda?

    You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE once your application is approved.

    Do I need prior experience to take this training?

    You can join the training with agile or project exposure at any level; it is designed to be practical and supportive. To sit the PMI-ACP exam, however, PMI requires project and agile experience hours and 21 contact hours of training, which this course provides.

    What topics does the PMI-ACP training cover?

    The training covers all seven agile domains: Agile Principles and Mindset, Value-Driven Delivery, Stakeholder Engagement, Team Performance, Adaptive Planning, Problem Detection and Resolution, and Continuous Improvement, plus exam strategy and application guidance.

    Which agile frameworks are included?

    The course spans multiple frameworks, including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming (XP) and Test-Driven Development (TDD), along with tools such as story points, velocity, burndown charts, retrospectives and information radiators.

    Does the 24-hour course meet the 21 contact hours PMI requires?

    Yes. The programme provides 24 contact hours of agile training, which exceeds and fully satisfies PMI's 21 contact hours prerequisite for the PMI-ACP application.

    What learning materials are provided?

    You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline and the Agile Practice Guide, practice questions, full-length mock exams, and topic-wise quizzes to reinforce each domain.
