The training is grounded in the Toyota Production System (TPS), developed by Taiichi Ohno and Shigeo Shingo at Toyota, and the five Lean principles that guide every Lean transformation: identify value, map the value stream, create flow, establish pull and seek perfection.

How long is the Lean Manufacturing training?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours). It covers Lean foundations, the eight wastes, value stream mapping, 5S, pull systems and kanban, JIT, TPM and OEE, standard work, SMED, Heijunka, Poka Yoke and Kaizen, with hands-on exercises throughout.

Assessment

Is there a test at the end of the Lean course?

No. This is a practical skills training course with no formal test or grading. Your learning is reinforced through hands-on Lean tool exercises, waste walks and manufacturing case studies during the one-day programme.

What do I receive after completing the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning confirming you completed the one-day programme. The Lean skills you gain apply to your work immediately and do not expire.

How is my learning reinforced during the day?

Through hands-on exercises: a Gemba waste walk, value stream data collection, a 5S workplace assessment, an OEE calculation and a kanban sizing exercise, all applied to realistic production scenarios rather than theory alone.

Will I be able to apply Lean straight away?

Yes. By the end of the day you can run a waste walk, map a value stream, launch a 5S programme, design a simple kanban system, calculate OEE and lead Kaizen improvements on your own line.

Do the skills expire or need renewing?

No. The Lean tools you learn are immediately applicable and require no renewal. You keep the courseware and templates so you can keep applying 5S, value stream mapping, kanban and Kaizen at work.

Course Content

What topics does the Lean Manufacturing training cover?

It covers the Toyota Production System and five Lean principles, the eight wastes (DOWNTIME), value stream mapping, 5S and visual management, pull systems and kanban, JIT, TPM and OEE, standard work, SMED, Heijunka, Poka Yoke and building a Kaizen culture.

What is 5S and will I learn to apply it?

5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) is the workplace organisation method that creates a clean, visual and stable plant. You learn to run a 5S programme, conduct a 5S audit, and apply it to your own production area.

Does the course cover value stream mapping?

Yes. You learn to draw current and future-state value stream maps, capture cycle and changeover times, calculate takt time, locate the bottleneck and plan Kaizen events to cut lead time across the value stream.

What hands-on exercises are included?

You practise a Gemba waste walk, value stream data collection, a 5S workplace assessment, an OEE calculation and a kanban quantity exercise on realistic manufacturing scenarios, so the tools are ready to use back at the plant.

Are learning materials provided?

Yes. You receive structured courseware, reference guides and downloadable Lean tool templates that you keep and use at work. The materials support both the training and your later improvement projects.
