    What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

    The Practitioner exam is open book and scenario-based, taken against the PRINCE2 7 Practitioner Syllabus and the PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects manual, which is permitted during the exam. Questions require analysis and judgement rather than simple recall.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, and you have 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes) to complete it. It uses multiple-choice, matching, sequencing and assertion-reason style questions.

    What is the passing score for PRINCE2 Practitioner?

    The pass mark is 60%, which is 42 out of 70 marks. Because the exam tests application across the nine syllabus areas, aim for broad, tailorable mastery of the method rather than memorising facts.

    Which edition of PRINCE2 does the exam cover?

    The exam is based on the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) and the PRINCE2 7 Practitioner Syllabus. PRINCE2 7 introduced the People capability, renamed themes to practices, and added sustainability, digital and commercial considerations.

    Do I need PRINCE2 Foundation before taking Practitioner?

    Yes. You need PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A to D, before sitting Practitioner. If you do not yet hold one, complete Foundation first, then progress to the advanced credential.

    Are practice questions and mock exams included?

    Yes. The programme includes scenario-based practice questions and mock assessments aligned to the open-book, 56-question format, so you can rehearse manual navigation, time management and applying the method under exam conditions.

    Is the courseware aligned to the latest PRINCE2 syllabus?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) and the current PRINCE2 7 Practitioner Syllabus, so what you learn matches the standard the exam is built on.
