What is the CAPM certification and who is it for?

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is PMI's entry-level credential for those new to project management. It is designed for students, recent graduates, career changers and project team members who want to demonstrate understanding of the fundamentals of effective project management.

Do I need project experience to take CAPM?

No. CAPM is the only PMI practitioner credential that requires no project management work experience. You need a secondary degree, such as a high school diploma or global equivalent, plus 23 hours of project management education, which this training provides.

What does the CAPM exam cover?

The exam covers four domains from the CAPM Examination Content Outline effective January 2023: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts, Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies, Agile Frameworks and Methodologies, and Business Analysis Frameworks. It is aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

How many questions are on the CAPM exam and how long is it?

The CAPM exam has 150 questions and lasts three hours (180 minutes). It is closed book with multiple-choice question formats, based on the CAPM ECO effective 2023.

Is there a fixed passing score for CAPM?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The passing score is set through psychometric analysis, and results are reported with performance feedback across the four CAPM domains, so aim for broad mastery rather than a target number.

Where can I take the CAPM exam?

You can take it via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website within your one-year eligibility window.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Our training includes mock exams and practice questions so you can identify weak areas and prepare thoroughly before your next attempt.

Yes. CAPM is designed for beginners and needs no prior project experience. The training starts from the fundamentals and builds up through predictive, agile and hybrid methods, so newcomers and career changers can follow comfortably.

What will I learn in the CAPM training?

You will learn project management fundamentals, predictive plan-based delivery, agile frameworks and business analysis, mapped to the four CAPM domains and the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition. The syllabus covers scope, schedule, cost, risk, stakeholders, Scrum, Kanban and more.

Does this training meet the CAPM education requirement?

Yes. The programme provides 24 contact hours, which exceeds the 23 hours of project management education PMI requires and fully satisfies the CAPM education prerequisite. It qualifies as an instructor-led CAPM course toward your eligibility.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 150-question, three-hour format, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you build exam readiness.
