What Is Driving PMI-CP Demand Across Latvia's Construction Sector

    Rail Baltica Delivery Pressure

Latvia is delivering 202 km of Rail Baltica mainline plus major stations, demanding portfolio-grade coordination, risk aggregation and contract control that certified construction leaders are hired to provide.

PMI-CP builds contract and coordination skills

    Contract and Claims Complexity

Large projects turn on contract type, variations and disputes, yet many teams lack formal claims discipline. Contracts Management is the largest PMI-CP domain, closing exactly this gap.

PMI-CP builds contracts and claims capability

    EU-Funded Compliance Demands

EU cohesion and recovery funds carry strict governance, reporting and audit rules. Public works employers value managers who can run compliant, well-documented construction delivery.

PMI-CP builds governance and compliance skills

    Construction Talent Shortage

Latvia has capable site professionals but few with a globally recognised construction project management credential. The PMI-CP makes holders visible and sought after.

PMI-CP makes certified leaders stand out

    Cost and Schedule Overruns

Rising material costs and tight programmes squeeze margins across Latvian construction. Structured scope, schedule and risk control helps leaders protect budgets and delivery dates.

PMI-CP builds scope, cost and risk skills

    Energy Transition Build-Out

Renovation, renewables and grid projects add regulatory and stakeholder complexity. Construction managers who can engage authorities and communities keep these projects moving.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for construction project management. It suits construction project managers, site managers moving into project management, PMP holders working in construction, and client-side or consultancy professionals across Latvia.

    General

What is the PMI-CP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for construction project management. It suits construction project managers, site managers moving into project management, PMP holders working in construction, and client-side or consultancy professionals across Latvia.

Is the PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Latvia?

Yes. With Rail Baltica, EU-funded public works and a building renovation wave driving capital delivery, Latvian employers value managers who can govern contracts, claims and stakeholders. The PMI-CP validates construction-specific skill and is recognised worldwide.

Is the PMP required before the PMI-CP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite. You can pursue the PMI-CP based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary, with the PMP covering general project management and the PMI-CP focused on construction.

What are the four PMI-CP exam domains?

The exam covers four domains from the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%).

How long is the PMI-CP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-CP is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area, within the three-year cycle through PMI's continuing certification requirements.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Latvia?

Training fees are quoted locally in euro and vary by format, such as live online, classroom or corporate. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote or talk to a learning advisor for current pricing.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and the PMI application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD. For reference it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members; verify current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership, around USD 139 a year, can reduce the exam cost.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing for PMI-CP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for contractors, developers and consultancies. Contact us for a tailored quote for your team.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP is a closed-book exam with 120 multiple-choice questions, in single-answer and multiple-answer formats, based on the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline. It is delivered by Pearson VUE.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes. The questions are distributed across the four ECO domains.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail, with domain-level feedback rated Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

How many attempts do I get and where can I sit the exam?

You get up to three attempts within a one-year eligibility window from application approval. You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the prerequisites to sit the PMI-CP exam?

You must complete four mandatory self-paced course modules and meet one of three experience sets: a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, each with 35 contact hours of project management education.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers the four ECO domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance, plus guidance on the prerequisite modules, the PMI application and exam strategy.

Does the training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?

The programme delivers 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of project management education PMI requires. Check with us whether supplementary self-study or pre-reading is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, practice questions, templates and topic-wise quizzes to support your preparation.

Are mock exams and practice questions included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 120-question, closed-book format, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness across all four domains.

Is the courseware aligned to the current standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the current edition of the PMBOK Guide, along with recognised construction industry standards and practices.

    Enrollment

Who can enrol in the PMI-CP training?

Anyone working in or moving into construction project management can enrol in the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires the four prerequisite modules plus one of the three experience and education sets.

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

What training formats are available in Latvia?

We offer live online instructor-led training, classroom training, self-paced e-learning, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and site commitments.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans allow you to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
