What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario-based questions across five performance domains and is delivered via Pearson VUE.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. It is closed book with single-answer and multiple-answer question formats, taken online with OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), all aligned to the current PgMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. Both the panel review and the written exam must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams, simulator and trainer guidance are designed to build broad mastery across all five domains before you sit.
