Do I need a PMP before taking PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary, with PMP covering general project management and PMI-CP focusing on construction.

Yes. As a PMI credential, PMI-CP is recognised through PMI's network across more than 200 countries. It is particularly valued on international construction projects in Kazakhstan where investors and operators expect globally recognised project management credentials.

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with 120 multiple-choice questions, using single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and covers the four construction project management domains.

How long is the PMI-CP exam?

You have 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes, to complete the 120-question exam. The questions are distributed across the four domains, with Contracts Management the largest at 50% of the exam.

What are the prerequisites for the PMI-CP exam?

You must complete four mandatory self-paced modules, then meet one of three experience and education sets: high school diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, each within the past 10 years, plus 35 contact hours of PM education.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first try?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our mock exams and domain-focused practice are designed to build your readiness before you sit.

Where can I take the PMI-CP exam?

You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website once your application is approved.

How long is PMI-CP valid and how is it renewed?

PMI-CP is valid for three years. You renew it by earning 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within the three-year cycle. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?
