Why Korean Employers Need Skilled Business Analysts Now

    Digital Transformation at Scale

Korean enterprises are digitising quickly, but many struggle to translate strategy into deliverable requirements. Analysts who can bridge business and technology are in short supply.

BA F&P builds requirements and modelling skills

    Fintech and Platform Complexity

Fintechs and platforms such as Toss, Kakao Pay, Naver and Coupang ship complex products fast, creating steady demand for analysts who can elicit, document and prioritise requirements.

BA F&P builds process and requirements skills

    Business and IT Alignment Gap

System integrators run large programmes, yet weak links between business needs and delivered systems cause value leakage that certified business analysts are hired to fix.

BA F&P builds strategy and solution analysis skills

    Requirements Quality and Rework

Unclear or changing requirements drive costly rework and delay. Analysts trained in elicitation, MoSCoW prioritisation and traceability reduce that risk on every project.

    Analyst Skills Shortage

Korea's labour market lists business analysts among in-demand roles, but formally qualified analysts are scarce. A BCS-quality-assured credential helps holders stand out.

    Agile and Product Delivery

    Business Process Modelling

Model as-is and to-be processes with BPMN and swimlane diagrams, spot inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and redesign processes to deliver measurable improvement.

    Business Case and Investment Appraisal

Build a compelling business case using cost-benefit analysis and investment appraisal techniques such as NPV, ROI and payback, and communicate it to non-financial stakeholders.

It is a combined, dual-level qualification awarded by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. The Foundation level validates knowledge of business analysis concepts and techniques, and the Practitioner level validates your ability to apply BA techniques in real project scenarios. Both are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Yes. As Korean banks, fintechs, technology firms and manufacturers accelerate digital transformation, employers increasingly want analysts who can turn business needs into clear requirements. Business analysts in South Korea average around KRW 72 million a year, and the credential is globally recognised and valid for life.

It suits aspiring analysts, IT professionals moving into a BA role, testers and developers changing direction, project managers broadening their skills, and product owners. Practising analysts also take it to formalise their knowledge with a recognised, BCS-quality-assured credential.

The certification is awarded by EXIN, the Examination Institute for Information Science, in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. Both the Foundation and Practitioner credentials are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge and quality-assured by BCS.

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are for lifetime. Neither credential expires, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement once you have passed each exam.

    General

What is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

The Foundation level validates knowledge of business analysis concepts and techniques, and the Practitioner level validates your ability to apply BA techniques in real project scenarios. Both are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Is the BA F&P certification worth it in South Korea?

Yes. As Korean banks, fintechs, technology firms and manufacturers accelerate digital transformation, employers increasingly want analysts who can turn business needs into clear requirements. Business analysts in South Korea average around KRW 72 million a year, and the credential is globally recognised and valid for life.

Who should take this business analysis course?

It suits aspiring analysts, IT professionals moving into a BA role, testers and developers changing direction, project managers broadening their skills, and product owners. Practising analysts also take it to formalise their knowledge with a recognised, BCS-quality-assured credential.

Who is the governing body for this certification?

The certification is awarded by EXIN, the Examination Institute for Information Science, in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. Both the Foundation and Practitioner credentials are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge and quality-assured by BCS.

How long are the BA F&P certifications valid?

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are for lifetime. Neither credential expires, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement once you have passed each exam.

    Pricing

What is included in the BA F&P course fee?

The training fee typically includes EXIN BCS-aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies, mock exams and practice questions for both levels, and learner support. Exam voucher inclusion varies by package. Contact us for a quote covering training and both exams.

How much does business analysis training cost in South Korea?

Training price varies by delivery format and whether the two EXIN exam vouchers are bundled. EXIN exam pricing also varies by region and channel. Pricing is available on request, so speak with a learning advisor for a quote tailored to your needs.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

This depends on the package you choose. Some options bundle the EXIN Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers with the training, while others price them separately. Ask our team which option includes both exams.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for analyst, product and transformation teams. Request a group quote for your organisation in Korea.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How many exams are there and what is the format?

There are two separate exams. The Foundation exam has 40 closed-book, single-answer multiple-choice questions. The Practitioner exam also has 40 closed-book questions, but they are scenario-based, presenting realistic project situations that require applied judgement.

What is the duration and passing score for each exam?

Each exam lasts 60 minutes. The passing score for both is 65 percent, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct. You must pass both the Foundation and Practitioner exams to hold both credentials.

Are there prerequisites for the exams?

The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis is the recommended prerequisite before you take the Practitioner exam.

Where can I sit the EXIN BCS exams?

Both exams can be taken online through EXIN's online proctored exam system or at an EXIN accredited testing location. They are usually arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the combined programme.

What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the exam you did not pass. EXIN re-sit policies and fees vary, so confirm the current terms at the time of booking. Our trainers provide targeted guidance and mock exams to help you clear both exams on your first attempt.

    Course Content

What topics does the training cover?

Foundation covers 14 topic areas including investigation techniques, requirements engineering, stakeholder management, business process modelling, strategy analysis and business cases. Practitioner covers seven applied topic areas assessed through scenario-based questions.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The Foundation level assumes no prior business analysis knowledge and has no formal prerequisites, so beginners are welcome. The programme then builds toward applied Practitioner skills, with trainer guidance and practice throughout.

How long is the training programme?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is 32 hours of instruction, typically delivered as four full days or across more days with shorter sessions. Foundation content is usually covered first, followed by Practitioner content.

Are practice tests and case studies included?

Yes. The programme includes mock exams and practice questions for both the Foundation and Practitioner formats, plus industry-driven case studies that show how business analysis techniques apply in realistic project scenarios.

Is the courseware aligned to the current standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner Examination Specifications and the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, so you study the current syllabus for both exams.
