The Risk Skills You Will BuildSkills Mapped to the Five RMP Domains

This training builds the end-to-end project risk skills tested across the five ECO domains, from setting risk strategy to closing risks at project end. By the end you can identify, analyse, respond to and monitor risk on predictive, agile and hybrid projects.

Build a Risk Strategy and Plan

Set the risk approach for a project: assess the environment with SWOT and PESTLE, confirm risk thresholds with stakeholders, and document a tailored risk management plan for predictive, agile or hybrid delivery.

    Identify Threats and Opportunities

Run structured identification workshops using brainstorming, the Delphi technique and checklists, then record risks clearly in the risk register with owners, categories and cause-risk-effect descriptions.

    Run Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis

Prioritise risks with the probability and impact matrix, then apply Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value to model the aggregate effect on cost and schedule.

    Plan and Implement Risk Responses

Select strategies for threats (avoid, transfer, mitigate, accept) and opportunities (exploit, share, enhance, accept), assign owners, and build contingency and fallback plans with reserves.

    Monitor and Close Risks

Track triggers and residual risks, run periodic risk reviews, report exposure to stakeholders and governance, and formally close risks with lessons learned at project completion.

Apply Real Risk Tools and Techniques

Work hands-on with the risk breakdown structure, prompt lists, tornado diagrams, heat maps and S-curves, so you can communicate risk analysis clearly to project teams and sponsors.
