Is there an exam for Minitab Essentials?

No. This is a non-examination skills course. Instead of a test, learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Minitab exercises throughout the day.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

You practise each technique yourself in Minitab as the trainer demonstrates it, using realistic quality datasets. This hands-on approach builds proficiency through doing rather than through a formal assessment.

What do I receive on completion?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning confirming you have completed the Minitab Essentials training. The practical skills you gain apply immediately at work and do not expire.

Will I be able to use Minitab confidently afterwards?

Yes. By the end you can import and manage data, create quality graphs, run hypothesis tests, build control charts, report process capability, and perform regression and Gauge R&R studies in Minitab.

Does this course prepare me for Six Sigma Green Belt?

It is strong preparation. Minitab is used throughout Green Belt and Black Belt programmes, so mastering the software first means you can focus on the methodology later. Many learners take this course alongside or before their Six Sigma training.

Course Content

What topics does the Minitab course cover?

The course covers six areas: navigating Minitab and managing data, descriptive statistics and graphs, hypothesis testing, statistical process control, process capability analysis, and regression with Gauge R&R measurement system analysis.

Can a complete beginner follow the course?

Yes. The course is designed for people new to Minitab or with limited experience. The trainer demonstrates each function step by step and you follow along, so no previous software knowledge is assumed.

Are the sessions hands-on?

Yes. Every module includes live Minitab exercises. You work in the software alongside the trainer using realistic quality and process improvement datasets, which is how proficiency is built.

What datasets will I work with?

You practise on realistic quality and process improvement datasets that mirror real workplace situations, such as production measurements, defect counts and measurement studies. For corporate sessions, we can build exercises around your own data.

How long is the training?

The course runs for one day, totalling eight hours, covering all six modules with live hands-on exercises throughout. It can also be split into two half-day sessions depending on the schedule.
