    Is there an exam for Kaizen training?

    No. Kaizen training is a non-certification course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on workshop simulation exercises, team activities and group discussion during the one-day programme.

    Do I receive proof of completion after the training?

    Yes. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. This is a record of attendance and learning, not a formal certification, as Kaizen as a methodology has no external awarding body.

    How is learning assessed during the course?

    There is no formal assessment. Instead, hands-on Kaizen event simulation exercises and team activities run throughout the day, so you practise applying the methodology as you learn it.

    Will I be able to run a Kaizen event after the training?

    Yes. You learn to plan an event, facilitate it through its phases, from Gemba observation and root cause analysis to future-state design and implementation, and apply tools such as 5S, standard work and the Kaizen newspaper to sustain the gains.

    Does the training expire or need renewal?

    No. The skills are immediately applicable in the workplace and do not expire. There is no certification to maintain and no renewal requirement.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Kaizen course cover?

    The course covers six modules: the Kaizen philosophy, the PDCA cycle and thinking tools, planning a Kaizen event, running a Kaizen event, Kaizen tools in practice such as 5S and standard work, and sustaining improvement to build a continuous improvement culture.

    What tools will I learn to use?

    You will learn PDCA, the Gemba walk, the eight wastes (DOWNTIME), 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, process mapping, 5S, standard work, spaghetti diagrams and the Kaizen newspaper for tracking follow-up actions.

    How long is the Kaizen training?

    The programme is one day, or 8 hours, covering all six modules with hands-on simulation exercises throughout. It can also be delivered as two half-days totalling the same 8 hours.

    Is the course hands-on or theory only?

    It is hands-on. Alongside concept explanations and real-world examples, workshop simulation exercises run through the day so you practise planning and facilitating elements of a Kaizen event using realistic scenarios.

    How does Kaizen relate to Lean and Six Sigma?

    Kaizen is the engine of Lean transformation and is used in the Improve and Control phases of Six Sigma DMAIC. It complements Value Stream Mapping, which identifies where events should run, and quality tools that support root cause analysis within events.
