Is the PfMP recognised in Finland?

Do I need PMP or PgMP before taking PfMP?

How long is the PfMP valid and how do I renew it?

What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario-based questions across five performance domains.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). The questions are distributed across the five portfolio management performance domains defined in the PfMP Examination Content Outline.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%). Together they cover the full scope of portfolio leadership the exam tests.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What happens if I do not pass the exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts on the PMI store.

Where can I take the PfMP exam in Finland?

You can sit the PfMP exam at a Pearson VUE test centre in Finland or take it from home or office via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring. You schedule it after your application is approved and you clear the panel review.

What topics are covered in the PfMP training?

The training covers the five PfMP performance domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%), plus the PfMP application, panel review and exam strategy.

Which standard is the PfMP training aligned to?

The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PfMP Examination Content Outline. This is the same 4th Edition standard the exam draws on.

Are practice tests, mock exams or assignments included?

Yes. The programme includes 1000+ practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build readiness for the 170-question paper.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the PfMP exam, however, PMI requires substantial experience, so the course is designed for senior professionals already working at or near portfolio level who want structured preparation.

Will I receive a certificate of completion and contact hours?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours (PDUs) earned through the programme, which also count toward maintaining PMI credentials.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PfMP exam?

PMI offers three sets. With a four-year degree you need 120 months of business experience and 48 months of portfolio management experience within the last 15 years; with a secondary diploma you need 120 months of business and 84 months of portfolio experience. All candidates also pass a panel review.
