Business Analyst Careers and Demand in FinlandWhy It Pays off Here

Business analysis is a strongly hiring field in Finland, valued by IT services, banks, telecoms, manufacturers and public-sector bodies that are digitalising at pace. As Finland works towards EU Digital Decade 2030 targets and faces a wide IT talent shortfall, professionals who can define requirements and analyse processes are in short supply. Roles run from junior analyst through senior and lead positions, and here is what the market is telling us right now.

What Is Fuelling Business Analysis Demand in Finland

    Widening IT Talent Shortfall

Finland is projected to be short of around 15,000 IT professionals by 2026 and needs 130,000 new hires by 2030, so employers compete hard for analysts who can scope change accurately.

The credentials validate in-demand analysis skills

    Digital Transformation at Scale

Finnish banks, telecoms and public bodies are migrating to the cloud under EU Digital Decade 2030 goals, and weak requirements are a common cause of stalled or over-budget projects.

The programme builds requirements and process skills

    Requirements and Scope Uncertainty

Poorly defined and shifting requirements drive costly rework across change initiatives. Trained analysts who elicit, document and manage requirements directly reduce that risk.

    Practitioner training targets applied elicitation

    Formalising Practising Analysts

Many people already perform business analysis in Finnish firms without formal recognition. The BCS-backed Foundation and Practitioner credentials give their skill portable, employer-trusted proof.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

It is a combined pathway of two EXIN credentials, developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT: the EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis and the EXIN BCS Practitioner Certificate in Business Analysis Practice. Both are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

    General

What is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a combined pathway of two EXIN credentials, developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT: the EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis and the EXIN BCS Practitioner Certificate in Business Analysis Practice. Both are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Who should take this course in Finland?

It suits aspiring analysts, IT and project professionals moving into business analysis, and practising analysts who want formal recognition. Foundation has no prerequisites, so beginners are welcome, while Practitioner adds applied, scenario-based technique for those working in real project contexts.

Is business analysis in demand in Finland?

Yes. Finland faces a wide IT talent shortfall and is targeting around 130,000 new IT hires by 2030, with strong demand from banking, telecom, manufacturing and public-sector digital transformation. Analysts who scope requirements accurately are actively recruited.

Is the certification worth it for my career?

For most learners, yes. Business analysts in Finland average around EUR 80,700 a year, with senior roles near EUR 100,000, and both credentials are recognised internationally and for life. The pathway gives portable proof of skill that travels across sectors and employers.

    Who awards these credentials?

Both are awarded by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, the UK's chartered professional body for IT. EXIN operates in over 165 countries, giving the combined credential strong recognition across Europe, including Finland.

    Pricing

How much does the training cost in Finland?

The training fee covers accredited courseware, instruction, mock questions and learner support, and varies by format and schedule. Exact pricing for Finland is available on request. Talk to a learning advisor for a tailored quote.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes BCS-aligned courseware, instructor-led sessions, industry case studies, Foundation and Practitioner practice questions, and post-training support. Exam voucher inclusion varies, so confirm it when you enrol.

Are the exam fees included in the price?

Exam voucher inclusion depends on the package you choose. EXIN exam pricing varies by region and channel. Confirm whether the Foundation and Practitioner vouchers are bundled with your training when you request a quote.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams across Finland. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the two exams?

The Foundation exam uses single-answer, multiple-choice questions testing knowledge and comprehension across 14 topic areas. The Practitioner exam uses scenario-based multiple-choice questions that test applied technique across 7 topic areas. Both are closed book.

How many questions are there and how long are the exams?

Each exam has 40 questions and a duration of 60 minutes. You sit two separate exams, one for Foundation and one for Practitioner, and must pass both to hold both credentials.

    What is the passing score?

The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 correct out of 40 questions. The same threshold applies to the Foundation and the Practitioner exam.

Do I need to pass Foundation before Practitioner?

The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level. The combined programme is taken sequentially, covering Foundation content first and then Practitioner, so you are prepared for both exams in one pathway.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can re-sit an EXIN exam. Verify the current re-sit policy and any re-examination fee with EXIN before booking. Our trainers provide guidance and practice to help you prepare thoroughly for both attempts.

Where can I take the exams?

You can sit both exams online through EXIN's online proctored system or at an EXIN accredited testing location. Exams are typically arranged through the accredited training provider as part of your programme.

    Course Content

What topics does the course cover?

Foundation covers 14 topic areas including investigation techniques, requirements engineering, business process modelling, stakeholder management, strategy analysis and the business case. Practitioner then applies these across 7 scenario-based topic areas.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, making it suitable for those new to business analysis. The training builds from concepts to applied practice, with trainer support throughout.

What standard is the course aligned to?

The course is aligned to the EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner Examination Specifications and the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge. Both credentials are quality-assured by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

What materials and practice are provided?

You receive BCS-aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies, and Foundation and Practitioner practice questions. The sessions include hands-on modelling, elicitation and business-case exercises to reinforce applied technique.

    How long is the training?

The combined programme is a 32-hour course, delivered over four full days or across more days with shorter sessions. Foundation content is covered first, followed by Practitioner content, preparing you for both exams.

How do I enrol in the course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches to get started.
