Which standard and edition is the PMP based on?

The PMP is based on the PMP Examination Content Outline (ECO) and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, published by PMI. Around half the exam reflects agile or hybrid ways of working, so the training covers predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.

Is the PMP recognised in Ecuador and internationally?

Yes. The PMP is recognised in over 200 countries and is regarded as the global gold standard for project managers. In Ecuador it is valued by banks, oil and gas, telecoms, consumer goods and technology employers, and it travels with you across sectors and borders.

How long is the PMP certification valid?

The PMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across PMI's Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with at least eight PDUs in each area.

What is the format of the PMP exam?

The PMP is a closed-book exam of 180 questions in 230 minutes, including two 10-minute breaks. It uses multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank questions, based on the current PMP ECO and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 180 questions and lasts 230 minutes (three hours and 50 minutes), including two scheduled 10-minute breaks. This is unchanged under the updated exam aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMP?

There are two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary diploma you need 60 months leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours, which this training provides.

Where can I take the PMP exam in Ecuador?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE within your one-year eligibility window.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our preparation, practice questions and mock exams are designed to build your readiness so you approach the exam with confidence; re-examination fees apply per attempt.
