    Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Ecuador?

    Yes. Ecuador's oil, mining, energy, construction and banking sectors run high-value, risk-intensive projects, and specialist risk professionals are scarce. Risk manager roles average around USD 55,000 a year, so a recognised risk credential offers a strong return in a competitive market.

    Do I need a PMP before taking the PMI-RMP?

    No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education, though many holders carry both credentials because they complement each other well.

    How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

    The PMI-RMP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

    Which standard and exam version is the PMI-RMP based on?

    The exam follows the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, which aligns to the PMBOK Guide and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management. The 2022 ECO covers predictive, agile and hybrid risk management approaches.

    Is the exam fee part of the training price?

    How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

    The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book and uses multiple-choice question formats, delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a test centre.

    What are the five PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

    The five domains are Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%), per the January 2022 Examination Content Outline.

    What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

    PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The passing score is determined through psychometric analysis, and results are reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

    How many attempts do I get and can I retake the exam?

    You get up to three attempts within a one-year eligibility period from the date your application is approved. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm current amounts on PMI.org.

    Where can I sit the PMI-RMP exam in Ecuador?

    You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website once your application is approved.

    What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

    The training covers all five risk domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks. It includes qualitative and quantitative tools such as probability and impact matrices, Monte Carlo simulation and expected monetary value.

    Can a beginner take this training or do I need experience?

    Anyone can attend the training to build risk skills. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and education, which vary by eligibility set. Our trainers help you understand the requirements and prepare your application.

    Are practice questions and mock exams included?

    Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 115-question format and the five domains, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness before test day.

    Does the training cover agile and hybrid risk management?

    Yes. In line with the January 2022 ECO, the training covers risk management across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery, so you can apply the concepts to any project environment you work in.

    Does this training meet the PMI risk education requirement?

    Yes. The 32 contact hours fully satisfy the 30-hour risk education requirement for Set B and Set C candidates. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add at least 8 more hours of risk training to meet the full requirement.
