Market Forces Fuelling Demand for Program Leaders in Nuremberg

    Automotive Transformation Pressure

Nuremberg's 500-plus automotive suppliers are electrifying and digitalising at once, running interdependent projects that need programme-grade coordination, the exact gap PgMP is built to close.

PgMP builds strategic alignment and life cycle skills

    Energy Transition Complexity

The Energiewende and grid modernisation push utilities and power-electronics firms to deliver multi-year programmes where risk and benefits must be governed across many related projects.

PgMP builds governance and risk aggregation skills

    MedTech Programme Scale-Up

The region's Medical Valley cluster runs complex device and health-IT R&D programmes where regulated delivery and benefits realisation demand experienced, credentialed programme leadership.

    PgMP builds benefits realisation skills

    Digital Delivery Governance Gap

An ICT cluster of 7,000-plus firms delivers large software and platform programmes, but many lack a strategy-aligned governance layer to tie components to organisational benefits.

    PgMP builds programme governance skills

    Programme Talent Scarcity

Germany's PM pool is deep in PMP project managers but thin in credentialed programme managers. PgMP's rigorous eligibility and panel review make holders rare and sought-after.

PgMP makes certified programme leaders stand out

    Benefits Realisation Gap

Boards fund transformation, but weak links between strategy and the delivered programme cause value leakage that certified programme leaders are increasingly hired to fix.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Yes. PgMP is PMI's senior programme management credential, and in Nuremberg's ICT, automotive, MedTech and energy sectors it positions you for roles such as Senior Program Manager, Head of PMO and Programme Director, where salaries reach well into six figures. It signals proven ability to deliver strategic benefits across multiple related projects.

    General

Is the PgMP certification worth it for program leaders in Nuremberg?

What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's expert-level credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as a coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits senior program managers, PMO heads, directors of delivery and transformation leaders with substantial programme experience.

Is PMP required before taking PgMP?

No. PMP certification is not a mandatory prerequisite for PgMP. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

    Is the PgMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PgMP carries global recognition across more than 200 countries. Fewer than 3,000 practitioners worldwide hold it, which makes it a distinctive differentiator for senior programme leaders in Germany and abroad.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

    Pricing

How much does PgMP training cost in Nuremberg?

Training fees vary by format and are available on request. Instructor-led and corporate options carry different pricing, and the fee includes courseware, practice resources, and application and panel-review support. The PMI exam fee is billed separately. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, guidance for the PgMP application and multi-rater panel review, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and members pay less than non-members. Confirm current exam and re-examination fees on the PMI store before applying. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help planning your costs.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts for PgMP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, transformation offices and leadership teams across Nuremberg. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a tailored quote.

What payment methods and instalment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It covers five performance domains and is delivered online proctored via Pearson VUE OnVUE or at a test centre.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback rather than a fixed percentage score.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). The training gives most focus to the life cycle domain, which carries the largest weight.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is a mandatory step in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our practice questions, mock exams and trainer support are designed to build readiness before your first attempt.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus guidance on the PMI application, panel review and exam strategy.

Which standard is the PgMP training aligned to?

The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline, so you study the same framework the exam is based on.

Do I need prior experience to benefit from the training?

Anyone can attend the training, but PgMP is a senior credential. To sit the exam PMI requires several years of programme management experience under one of three eligibility sets. The training is most valuable for experienced program leaders preparing for the exam and panel review.

Are practice tests, mock exams and templates included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions mapped to the exam outline, full-length mock exams and downloadable programme management templates to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

How many contact hours does the training provide?

The instructor-led programme provides 24 contact hours of training as exam preparation and knowledge consolidation. Unlike PMP, PgMP has no mandatory contact-hour prerequisite, so these hours support your preparation rather than qualify your application.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements to earn PgMP?

PMI offers three sets: with a secondary diploma, 48 months of project management experience (or an active PMP) plus 84 months of programme management experience; with a bachelor's degree, 48 months plus 48 months; and with a GAC-accredited degree, 36 months plus 36 months, all within the past 15 years.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to pick a start date that suits you.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.
