What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PgMP worth it for programme leaders in Czechia?

Yes. The PgMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued by IT services, shared services centres, automotive, banking and consulting employers across Czechia. With programme and PMO director bands reaching around Kc 2.2M a year and programme talent scarce, certified leaders stand out. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your route.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP?

PMI offers three sets. Set A: secondary diploma plus 48 months of project management experience (or an active PMP) and 84 months of programme management experience. Set B: a bachelor's degree plus 48 months of each. Set C: a GAC-accredited degree plus 36 months of each. All experience must fall within the past 15 years.

Is the PMP required before taking the PgMP?

No. The PMP is not mandatory for the PgMP. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area.

How much does PgMP training cost in Czechia?

How much is the PgMP exam fee?

PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing; as a guide it is around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members. Membership can reduce the exam cost. Verify the current fee on pmi.org before you apply.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, with scenario-based questions across five performance domains.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing standard, so results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level performance feedback rather than a fixed percentage.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). Program Life Cycle Management carries the most weight, so the training focuses heavily on it.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented programme experience. It is a mandatory step in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our trainers and practice resources are designed to help you prepare thoroughly so you can sit with confidence.

The course is grounded in the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition (PMI, 2017), which is the primary reference framework for the exam. The courseware is aligned to the current PgMP ECO.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the PgMP ECO and the 170-question, four-hour format, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can attend the training, but the PgMP credential itself requires substantial project and programme management experience. The course suits senior professionals and PMP holders preparing to meet PMI's eligibility and sit the exam.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme, which also support your ongoing PDU requirements.
