The Practical Skills You Will BuildCore DMAIC and Lean Capabilities

Yellow Belt training gives you a working knowledge of the DMAIC method and the core Lean tools used in process improvement. By the end, you can support an improvement team, map a process, spot waste, and help measure and sustain results.

    Apply the DMAIC Improvement Cycle

Learn how to move a problem through Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control, so you can support structured improvement projects rather than relying on guesswork. This is the backbone of every Lean Six Sigma effort and the focus of the Yellow Belt exam.

Map Processes with SIPOC and Value Streams

Use SIPOC diagrams, process maps and value stream mapping to make a process visible, then identify where waste and delay build up. These tools help teams agree on how work really flows before they try to improve it.

Use Core Lean Tools to Cut Waste

Apply foundational Lean tools such as 5S, Kanban and Poka-Yoke to reduce the seven wastes, organise the workplace and mistake-proof everyday tasks. These are the practical techniques Czech plants and service teams use daily.

    Read Basic Six Sigma Metrics

Understand introductory measures such as DPU, DPMO, FTY, RTY, cycle time and cost of poor quality, so you can describe process performance in numbers that managers and improvement leaders trust.

    Support Data Collection and Analysis

Learn how the Measure and Analyze phases gather and interpret data, including basic statistics, Pareto analysis and cause-and-effect diagrams, so you can help an improvement team find the real drivers of a problem.

    Sustain Gains with Process Controls

Explore Control-phase methods such as control plans, basic statistical process control and visual management, so improvements hold over time rather than slipping back once a project ends.

The Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (LSSYB) is an entry-level certification that validates foundational knowledge of the five DMAIC phases and core Lean tools. Awarded against the IASSC Body of Knowledge, it confirms you can support process improvement projects as a team member.

Is the Yellow Belt certification worth it in Czechia?

Yes. For Czechia's automotive, manufacturing and shared-services employers, a Yellow Belt is a recognised first credential that helps you stand out for quality and process roles and opens a clear path towards Green and Black Belt.

Who should take the Yellow Belt course?

It suits people new to process improvement, front-line team members, supervisors, and anyone supporting DMAIC projects led by Green or Black Belts. No prior Six Sigma experience is needed to start.

Do I need any prerequisites for the Yellow Belt?

No. IASSC sets no prerequisites for the Yellow Belt. Training and real-world experience are recommended but not required, so beginners can start straight away.

How long is the IASSC Yellow Belt valid?

An IASSC Yellow Belt holds Current status for three years from the date of certification. You maintain it by passing the IASSC recertification exam before the status elapses.

Which body governs the Yellow Belt certification?

The certification is governed by the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC), which was acquired by PeopleCert in 2020. Invensis Learning training is aligned to the IASSC Body of Knowledge.
