What Is Kaizen and Why It Matters in Colombian WorkplacesUntitledA Practical Route to Continuous Improvement

Kaizen Training in Colombia is a practical, one-day skills programme that teaches you how to lead and take part in Kaizen continuous improvement events. Kaizen, a Japanese term meaning change for the better, is the discipline of making small, incremental improvements every day, and it sits at the heart of Lean management and the Toyota Production System. Popularised worldwide by Masaaki Imai and refined within the Toyota Production System, Kaizen gives teams a shared method to identify waste, solve root causes with the PDCA cycle, and sustain the gains through standard work. This course is delivered by Invensis Learning in live virtual, classroom and corporate formats, blending clear concepts with hands-on workshop simulation. It suits operations managers, production supervisors, quality engineers and Lean coordinators in Colombia's manufacturing, food and beverage, logistics and services sectors who want measurable results, not theory. There is no exam; Kaizen has no formal awarding body, so learning is reinforced through practice, and you leave with a course completion record and skills you can apply straight away. Start your continuous improvement journey with Invensis Learning.

Why Continuous Improvement Skills Are in Demand in Colombia

    Rising Cost and Margin Pressure

Currency swings and input costs squeeze Colombian manufacturers, so teams that can strip out waste and protect margins through structured Kaizen are increasingly valued.

    Kaizen builds waste elimination skills

    Nearshoring and Export Demand

As global firms nearshore production to Colombia, plants must hit international quality and delivery standards, driving demand for repeatable continuous improvement.

    Kaizen builds process improvement skills

    Productivity Gap in Operations

Many Colombian operations still rely on firefighting over method. Kaizen gives teams a repeatable way to raise productivity and improve on-time delivery.

    Kaizen builds structured problem-solving skills

    Scarce Lean Facilitation Talent

Employers find plenty of skilled operators but few people who can plan and lead a Kaizen event, making trained facilitators stand out in the local job market.

Kaizen makes trained facilitators stand out

    Tighter Quality and Compliance

Food, pharmaceutical and automotive suppliers face strict quality demands. Kaizen events cut defects and sustain compliance through standard work and audits.

Kaizen builds standard work and quality skills

    Improvements That Do Not Last

Gains often fade once attention moves on. Kaizen teaches the visual management, standard work and daily habits that lock improvements in for good.

    Assessment

Is there an exam at the end of Kaizen training?

No. There is no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Kaizen event simulation, team exercises and group discussion during the one-day programme.

What will I receive on completion?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning confirming you completed the training. There is no external credential, as Kaizen has no formal awarding body.

    How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. You practise planning and facilitating elements of a Kaizen event during the workshop, so you leave able to apply the method at work with confidence.

Is Kaizen the same as a Lean or Six Sigma certification?

No. Kaizen is a continuous improvement method within Lean, not a certification. It complements Lean Six Sigma and is used in the Improve and Control phases of DMAIC, but this course awards no belt or credential.

Will this course prepare me to run Kaizen events at work?

Yes. By the end you can plan, facilitate and close a structured Kaizen event, apply the PDCA cycle and Lean tools, and sustain the gains through standard work and follow-up audits.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kaizen training cover?

The course covers the Kaizen philosophy, the PDCA cycle, waste identification, planning and running a Kaizen event, Lean tools such as 5S and standard work, and sustaining improvements to build a continuous improvement culture.

What Lean tools will I learn?

You learn Gemba walks, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, the eight wastes, 5S, standard work, spaghetti diagrams, time observation and the Kaizen newspaper for tracking actions.

How long is the Kaizen training?

The programme runs for one day (about 8 hours) and can also be delivered as two half-days. It covers all six Kaizen modules with hands-on workshop simulation throughout.

Do I need prior Lean experience to follow the course?

No. Some familiarity with Lean helps but is not required. The course introduces waste, flow and continuous improvement from first principles, so beginners are fully supported.

How does Kaizen relate to Value Stream Mapping?

They work together. Value Stream Mapping shows where waste and bottlenecks sit across a process, and Kaizen events are then run at those priority points to deliver the improvements.
