    Renewable Energy Transition Risk

PMI-RMP builds quantitative risk analysis skills

    Lender and Regulator Scrutiny

The Caribbean Development Bank and other financiers require formal risk governance on funded programmes, so employers increasingly seek certified risk specialists who can meet assurance expectations.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising your ability to identify and assess project risks, mitigate threats and capitalise on opportunities. It is designed for project managers, engineers, PMO professionals and consultants in Barbados who specialise in managing risk on projects and programmes.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising your ability to identify and assess project risks, mitigate threats and capitalise on opportunities. It is designed for project managers, engineers, PMO professionals and consultants in Barbados who specialise in managing risk on projects and programmes.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Barbados?

Yes. With near USD 1 billion in tourism investment, major infrastructure upgrades and a 50% renewable energy target by 2027, Barbados employers need certified risk specialists. The credential sets you apart from generalist project managers and positions you for higher-paying risk and PMO roles.

Is PMP required before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. PMP certification is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education, though many holders also hold PMP because the two credentials complement each other.

    Is the PMI-RMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-RMP is recognised by employers globally. It is especially valued in high-risk industries such as construction, energy, financial services and infrastructure, where formal project risk management is contractually or regulatorily required.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, mock exams, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Request a quote for current pricing in Barbados.

How much does the PMI-RMP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam fee in USD under regional pricing, for reference around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members. Confirm current fees at pmi.org before applying, as PMI periodically updates pricing. Membership can lower both the exam and renewal costs.

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Barbados?

Training pricing depends on the format you choose, such as live virtual, classroom or corporate group delivery. Fees are available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a tailored quote for individuals or teams in Barbados.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for project and risk teams. Ask about corporate or group pricing for your organisation in Barbados.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The exam is closed book with 115 questions in multiple-choice formats, including single-answer and multiple-answer items. It is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and covers five risk management domains.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. It is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the five PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

Per the January 2022 ECO, the five domains are Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You are permitted up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Our training includes practice questions and mock exams aligned to the exam format to help you prepare thoroughly and reduce the need for a retake.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-RMP?

PMI offers three paths. Set A: a secondary diploma plus 36 months of risk management experience within the last 5 years and 40 hours of risk education. Set B: a bachelor's degree plus 24 months of experience and 30 hours. Set C: a GAC-accredited degree plus 12 months of experience and 30 hours.
