    What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

    The PMI-RMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer questions and is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a test centre.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 115 questions and a time limit of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). You are permitted up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval.

    What are the five exam domains and their weights?

    The current ECO covers five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

    What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

    PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

    What happens if I do not pass the first time?

    You may retake the exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period. A re-examination fee applies to the second and third attempts, and our mock exams and revision support are designed to help you pass with fewer attempts.
