Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist certification in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing and responding to risk. It is designed for risk managers, senior project managers, risk consultants and PMO analysts who specialise in project and programme risk.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist certification in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing and responding to risk. It is designed for risk managers, senior project managers, risk consultants and PMO analysts who specialise in project and programme risk.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Brisbane?

Yes. With the Brisbane 2032 Games, faster rail and a record Queensland infrastructure pipeline, employers in infrastructure, resources, construction and financial services are seeking specialist risk talent. Risk Manager roles in Brisbane average around A$155,000, and the RMP helps you stand out for them.

Is the PMP required before the PMI-RMP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your project risk management experience and education. Many holders do carry both, as the credentials are complementary.

Is the PMI-RMP recognised in Australia?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the RMP is recognised by employers across Australia and worldwide. It is especially valued in high-risk sectors such as infrastructure, construction, resources, energy and defence where formal project risk management is expected.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how is it renewed?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle and pay the PMI renewal fee.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, domain-wise revision, application and experience-documentation guidance, learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Request a quote for the current inclusions.

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Brisbane?

Training pricing varies by format and schedule and is available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Talk to a learning advisor for a tailored quote.

How much is the PMI-RMP exam fee?

For reference, PMI lists the exam at around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members, though prices vary by region and change periodically. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost. Confirm current fees on pmi.org before you apply.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

What if I do not pass the PMI-RMP exam first time?

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and runs for 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book and uses multiple-choice formats, including single-answer and multiple-answer questions.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis, and performance is reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.
