The PgMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It covers five performance domains through application, analysis and synthesis rather than pure recall.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). Program Life Cycle Management is the largest, so weight your preparation accordingly.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What is the PgMP panel review and what if I do not pass first time?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment of your documented programme experience that you must pass alongside the written exam. You get up to three exam attempts within a one-year eligibility window; reexamination fees apply, and our prep support helps you get ready.
