What Is Driving Program Management Demand in Adelaide

    AUKUS and the Submarine Build

The AUKUS submarine program is a multi-decade, multi-billion-dollar pipeline at Osborne, demanding program-grade coordination, benefits tracking and governance across thousands of new roles.

PgMP builds program governance and coordination skills

    Major Infrastructure Running in Parallel

South Australia is delivering hospitals, major roads, housing and energy projects at once, stretching organisations that lack leaders able to align and govern interdependent projects as programs.

PgMP builds life-cycle and interdependency skills

    Strategy-To-Execution Gap

Boards fund transformation and capital programs, but weak links between strategy and the funded project mix cause value leakage that certified program managers are increasingly hired to fix.

PgMP builds strategic alignment and benefits skills

    Program Talent Scarcity

Adelaide's talent pool is deep in project managers but thin in credentialed program leaders. PgMP's advanced eligibility and panel review make holders rare and sought-after.

PgMP makes certified program leaders stand out

    Defence and Space Complexity

Adelaide's defence and space ecosystem runs complex, security-critical programs that need rigorous stakeholder engagement, risk aggregation and governance across many moving parts.

PgMP builds stakeholder and risk skills

    Benefits Accountability Pressure

Government and enterprise sponsors now demand measurable benefits, not just delivered outputs, raising demand for leaders who manage benefits realisation across a whole program.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam on the first attempt?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our prep resources and trainer support help you target weak domains before you resit.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario-based questions across five performance domains, alongside a panel review of your experience.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and you have four hours (240 minutes) to complete it. It is delivered via Pearson VUE, either at a test centre or through OnVUE online proctoring.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. Your result is determined through psychometric analysis and reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP exam?

PgMP requires a secondary or four-year degree, project management experience (or an active PMP), and program management experience, all within the last 15 years. Candidates must also pass a subject-matter-expert panel review. See PMI's PgMP Handbook for the exact month thresholds.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?

The training covers PMI's five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), plus application and exam strategy.

Can I take the training if I am new to program management?

Anyone can enrol in the training, but PgMP is a senior credential, so the exam requires substantial program experience. The course suits experienced project and program professionals; our advisors can confirm whether you meet PMI's eligibility before you apply.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, a Standard for Program Management overview, templates, flashcards and topic-wise quizzes.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The program includes 1000+ practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and chapter-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PgMP syllabus?
